Not as interesting as it sounds,

This review is from: Tease (Paperback)
I usually enjoy Suzanne Forster because she creates quite a bit of chemistry between her two lead characters. This one appeared to be a guaranteed steamy read with the addition of an S&M club and an extra dosage of eroticism as proclaimed on the front cover with "an erotic fiction novel." Unfortunately, that was not the case. Tess, a new advertising exec, tries to seal a deal with a client who wants their product to be photographed in an S&M club. Tess tries to book the club, but the club's owner wants Tess to submit to him for several days in return and she reluctantly agrees. What follows is some confusion for Tess and the readers. You never know who Tess is fooling around with- is it the owner? Is it James? Of course it's not really that confusing, you guess from the beginning, but all the "erotic" scenes are pretty vague and disappointing, and the chemistry was nonexistent. Here's a suggestion: read the first few pages before buying- it's a sex scene. If you don't mind the writing style, which is not typical Forster, than buy this one, but if you're like me and you were hoping for something a little more as the book progresses than you're going to be disappointed because it never gets any more concrete. It's just a disappointing read from an author who can write better.

Tepid erotica... actually, kinda laughable,

This review is from: Tease (Paperback)
Tess has relocated from a cushy job at an LA advertising agency to a larger NY agency. Asked to reign in maverick ad-man Danny Gabriel, she is given a prestigious Faustino Leather account that is interested in breaking new ground. Danny comes up with a S&M themed idea, but Tess opts for something much tamer. When her notes and mock ups disappear and it looks like Danny is behind it, she does some investigating of her own and ends up in his bed.
When Faustino's president is laid up in the hospital, his overly pierced and tattooed granddaughter is in charge and wants cutting edge, including a photo shoot at an infamous S&M club. When she attempts to book the club for the shoot, the club owner agrees under the stipulation that she submit to him and do whatever he wants for three consecutive days (or depending on what part of the book you are reading, 48 hours, or overnight). Threatened with firing if she does not secure the space and faster that you can say sexual harassment, she packs a suitcase and arrives at the club for her initiation, all the while fantasizing that Danny is the one she is with. Deemed as "an erotic novel," I found the story so lacking in everything from consistency and character development to eroticism, and actually found it quite laughable. This was a real disappointment from an author who usually titillates.

Not a review, just a few comments,

I've enjoyed this author in the past, but was very disappointed in Tease. I'm not an experienced reviewer; I can only say that the story was silly, didn't flow, I really didn't understand or get to know the characters and I kept waiting for the storyline to improve. Sorry to say, this was the first book I actually threw in the trash after finishing.

There has never been a more appropriate title.,

Readers who've enjoyed Suzanne Forester's prior books will be disappointed with this read. Readers who have sought out this book because of its BDSM side will also be disappointed with this read.
As someone who typically enjoys Suzanne Foresters books and enjoys the less "vanilla" type of read, I was disappointed on both aspects. This book did nothing to assuage either hunger. Most scenes built the tension but quickly changed chapters before the follow through. It became so predictable that I wouldn't allow myself to get caught up in the anticipation because I knew there would be no payoff. The constant let down was the only thing this book delivered. The ending was very weak and like the rest of the book ended before the payoff. Take this readers advice, and look elsewhere for a worthy read.

Erotic Fantasy Read,
By EKD (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tease (Paperback)
I like reading a good old fashioned romance but every now and then I like something a bit more on the wild side - which this book was. I enjoyed the twists and turns through the unique S&M Club experience of this story and found it erotic without getting too raunchy or degrading. I thought the characters were well developed and the storyline was just a fun change of pace from my normal romance reads. I have this listed on my read it again list.

The heat is on,
This review is from: Tease (Paperback)
Madison Avenue Creative Director at Pratt-Summers advertising firm Tess Wakefield is working extra hard to obtain Faustini as a client. However, peer Danny Gabriel somehow manages to get Faustini to film the ads in the S&M the Marquis Club.
The enigmatic club owner agrees to allow the shooting in his club under one condition. Tess must spend three days with him inside his club. Tess reluctantly accepts the terms because she needs the account and as a celibate she feels sex is a zero following several years of loser boyfriends and rashes in her late teens and early twenties. The thirtyish Tess assumes she can handle anything until she is inside the club with the cagey owner who is a different story altogether. He is the master of domination and she finds she likes letting him take control of her desires. The heat is on with this bedroom, boardroom, and club room (dungeon) erotica romance with a dominative-submissive relationship. The sex scenes are filled with spice and the relationship between the lead couple is fascinating and very different than 99% of the genre's novels. Neither Tess nor Danny come across as likable once the audience joins them inside the club, but the audience will not care as clearly this is intended for discrete fans that will enjoy this vibrant read.
