Love the pencil pointers!!! So glad I could find a whole book of them. These are my favorite crossword puzzles. Been doing them for decades. If you love crosswords, give these a try - think you will be very pleased!

Not 5 star...there are several puzzles for which a clue is missing...no space left for the arrow. And it is hard to fold the book with the binding as it is. But the puzzles are clever and some of them have some special features, such as letters circled that you can get a hint from. My husband and I do one puzzle everyday after lunch. We have never been good at crosswords, and neither of us can do one of these alone, but together we come darn close. We keep track of how many letters we got wrong. So far 9 is our highest and 3 is our lowest. We haven't done a perfect puzzle yet. I am able to complete the People Magazine puzzle every week and that is all I have to compare, so these are just a tad bit harder.

The book arrived promptly and in excellent condition, a new book. However, the puzzles themselves are a bit hard. The clues are somewhat obscure and, as with any crossword puzzle book, one has to 'get used to' the cadence of the person who created the puzzle in the first place. I was never able to find a 'rhythm' in this book (puzzle workers will know what I mean...). The original concept of this particular crossword puzzle style is unique and seemed to have potential for 'fun' for an avid puzzle worker like myself when I first worked this type of puzzle in 'Games' magazine. However, the clues were not very good, and in some cases whole phrases were to be filled in using only one fragmented clue. Just so hard and frustrating as to not be much fun, I put it aside after a puzzle attempt or two...
