Needs Bigger Print on Tabs - Edit: FIXED!
on July 7, 2013
Well, like some others, I messed up my first protector before getting it right (more or less) on the second try. The problem is that I couldn't read the 1 and 2 on the tear off tabs and put it on upside down. Then I wondered why it wouldn't stick. Duh... Of course then I ended up with dust on the sticky side and it was ruined. Then I took my glasses off so I could see the tiny print and there it was -- 1 and 2. So I tried again but since it was a VERY close fit, I just could not get it aligned properly using the suggested method in the video, so I resorted to the old Scotch Tape trick and that got it as straight as it possibly could be. But it still seemed to be cut a little crooked. Three sides were aligned properly but since it's a very close fit, the fourth went slightly over the edge of the glass leaving a bubble which cannot be removed, but it's on the non-image part anyway and won't matter. As for the rest, the bubbles all came out very easily with the card and cloth and it looks really good. And I anticipate long life for the product.
All I ask, Tech Armor, is PLEASE -- bigger numbers on the tabs so those of us with less than perfect eyesight can clearly distinguish the bottom from the top.
An update to my original review: Tech Armor sent me a message asking me to review their product and when I said that I had and mentioned the problem with the tiny numbers on the tabs, they wrote back and said that I must have gotten some old stock because now the tabs are marked in green and red to clearly differentiate between the top and bottom. And they are sending me a couple more protectors.
Wow! You can't ask for better customer service than that. I now consider this a FIVE STAR PRODUCT. You can buy with confidence when the company makes top quality merchandise and really cares about their customers. We have a smart phone and another tablet and you can bet that I'll turn to Tech Armor when we need screen protectors.
