I am not exactly the most coordinated when it comes to the fine motor control that it requires to put these kinds of things on. I actually purchased 2 sets, one for my 2013 Kindle File HD 7, and one for my 2012 Kindle File HD 7. In both cases I was glad the packs came with 3 each.
It took me 3 tries to get the first one on the 2012 Kindle because I kept getting dirt stuck on the film when peeling it off and on to align. With my second Kindle I had easier time, partly because of the lack of a camera on the 2013 model, but mainly because I had practiced so much with my other Kindle.
I finally did get it on and once it is on, it really is pretty darn invisible. You quickly forget that it is there. My older kindle had a few thin surface only scratches on it, and this screen protector made them completely disappear. I am sure they are still there of course, but you can no longer see them at all.
1) REALLY REALLY clean the screens AND your hands. The directions tell you to wash your hands with soap and water - DO THIS. Seriously. Do it. :) Also the more dust free the environment you are in, the better. The tiniest spec of dust under it stands out like a baby pink elephant in a black and white movie.
2) Peel the backing off the screen protector as you put it on, that will reduce the number of times you touch the sticky part.Take your time and push the sticker down as you pull the backing off. Keeping a fold in it, maybe 60 or 70 degrees, helps push it on without air bubbles.
3) You can peel it off, and put it back on, but try not to. The more times you do that the more chances you have to get dust stuck to it, and once that happens you are pretty much done and have to start over with a new one.
Over all - definitely worth the price of admission.
