5.0 out of 5 stars So worth the money.
I had ordered the Tech Force 89 from Compasseco but sent it back. The rifle was for myself and my wife to target practice with at camp. However, it was simply too heavy and difficult to cock. So, I called the folks at Compassaco and arraigned an exchange for the Tech Force 97.

We could not be happier. They sent the new rifle with no problems and this thing is...

2) Can't mount a standard scope, the grooves don't accomodate them well without falling off, and the scope makes the pellet loading even more cumbersome if not impossible.

3) I'll admit it's my first spring loaded air-gun, but even then working the lever, and the safety etc. is cumbersome.

it's a solid gun, nice wood stock, nice rubber base, seems to be accurate and powerful enough. Just a lot more cumbersome to use than any of the other air rifles I've owned.

We could not be happier. They sent the new rifle with no problems and this thing is a real gem. Like the 89 the wood is beautiful and the rifle fires true, it's well made and an absolute steal for the money. Unlike the 89 however, it's a breeze to cock and shoot and lighter to handle. The only negative is not with the rifle but the clearance loading pellets if you have a scope. It's not impossible to do but I just wish there was a little more room for the fingers to do it.

Still, for the giveaway price for this pellet rifle compared to the Daisy's plastic handle toy for the same price it's a no brainier. You'll be happy with your purchase.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor workmanship, July 22, 2010

The workmanship on this gun was poor. When I received the gun a screw was missing in the stock. The plugs for the front sight fell off within the first day of owning the gun. I expected better workmanship.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, January 13, 2011
This review is from: Tech Force Pellet Gun Model 97- 22 Cal at 750 FPS (Misc.)
I like the general design of the gun, but quality and accuracy leave much to be desired. First off, these guns only shoot in the 575-600 fps range not 750 like stated. You must keep the leather seal oiled well or it will drop random pellets 6" at 25 yards. For a low powered gun, it is very hold sensitive- I could shift groups by 4" at 25 yards with a slightly different grip. The barrel breech on my gun is not straight, so it buggers up the breech seal almost instantly after replacement. The screws that hold the action to the stock constantly work loose even with red loctite, and this creates fliers (the stocks always crack there, too). After 1,000 shots or so it lost power so I took it apart. The spring was kinked badly, the plastic spring guide trashed, leather seal was destroyed, plastic under seal cracked, and the piston head cracked at the weld. Also: the scope stop is crap, the blueing and finish is poor, and it shoots very few brands of pellets well. I rebuilt the rifle, tuned the trigger, and lubed it properly. It still won't shoot straight, and my $40 Beeman p17 pistol shoots circles around it even out to 75 yards. I'm done fiddling with Chinese spring guns... next up is the Benjamin Discovery PCP. At least I know that is a good one.
