Product Description

Amazon.com

There’s so much to do at the fair, babies won’t know where to begin. They can drop balls down the curvy slide and watch them roll, crank the ferris wheel around to give the balls a ride, or tap on the colorful keyboard to learn numbers, colors, or musical notes. While hard at play, kids will be developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they grasp and place balls and push the piano keys. The fun fair also teaches cause and effect as children get a different response from the magical sensor for each ball they drop in the slide. Flashing lights and engaging music and sounds stimulate babies’ senses and encourage repeat play. Parents may find the music a bit grating—especially after they’ve heard it over and over again. There is a two-level volume control, however, that allows kids to play on a quieter setting. To preserve the battery life, an automatic shut-off feature kicks in if the fair is left untouched for a few minutes. The Play & Learn Fun Fair comes with five colorful balls that conveniently store in the base and runs on two "AA" batteries (included). --Cristina Vaamonde

Product Description

Spin the joystick to turn the bright red ferris wheel, and start the flashing lights. The ball-shaped animal "passengers" enjoy the ride as the ferris wheel rotates. As they reach the bottom, they roll out and around the tower, and each introduces a different lesson: colors, counting, music and more. Three ball-shaped buttons and five light-up piano keys add to the fun. Requires 2 "AA" batteries (included). Measures approximately 12.5" x 6.5" x 12".

4.0 out of 5 stars This Toy Will Stick Around Till They're 3!, April 1, 2005
This review is from: V Tech - Play & Learn Fun Fair (Toy)
My twin daughters got this toy for Christmas when they were 8 months old. At that time, they really enjoyed watching the ball roll down the track, listening to the music, watching the lights, etc. Of course, they were not yet able to put the balls in themselves. However, their elementary school brothers didn't seem to mind doing this for them, and I must admit, even without them! There is actually alot you can do with this toy. You can change the path the ball takes by pulling out the little gate about half way down, and it makes the ball roll onto the ferris wheel. You can also make the ball drop from "seat" to "seat" on the ferris wheel. The buttons do different things at different times, and my boys had fun figuring out how to change the functions which were somewhat unpredictable. My girls are now one year old and starting to pick up the balls and put them into the top. In a few months, they will probably figure out how to turn the ferris wheel. After that, they will probably enjoy predicting where the ball will go, changing it's path, etc. The only thing I didn't like about this toy is that it isn't very stable and can be pulled down toward the child if they are in a crawling position and trying to pull up to kneeling or standing. This was somewhat solved by pushing it up against a wall, but I did't trust it until they finished with this stage of development. Looking back, I'd probably wait and introduce this toy at about 1 year of age, but it's well worth it anyway because it should keep them interested until they're around 3. I must admit that my husband and I may need to put it away between now and then for a little respite, however, because as with many baby toys we are getting a little tired of the music... "We're going to play at the fair...there's lights and sounds everywhere...." Ugh!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is one cute toy, October 9, 2005

When my daughter opened this on her 1st birthday my immediate thought was - Oh, another keyboard (She got 4 this year). This is one cute toy. It has so many functions that I am sure she will use more and more of as she gets older. It does have a keyboard but also plays individual songs, is a ball drop and teaches cause and effect. Its bright colored and lights up and isnt tooo loud. One HUGE point with me is, it comes with 4 balls. AND its built to STORE the balls when not in use. She has a FisherPrice ball drop toy that the balls are all over our house because there is nowhere to store them.

Now granted, my daughter hasnt had this very long so we have not had time to get sick of the main song but so far she really loves it and is exploring all of the different things it does. I believe this toy has staying power. I just wish it was a little sturdier. She tries to pull up on it to put the balls in the top and it topples right over.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Toy, January 5, 2006

My daugher received as a 1st year gift at Christmas and loved it. The first one we received was broken, no sound just lights but we returned it and are happy with the replacement. Out of all her toys this was her favorite this year. Many Vtech toys purchased in earlier years for my son were not as popular so I think this is a winner and recommended for a 1 year old.
