This is definitely a good toy to buy that really keeps my boys' attention. They love the balls and the keyboard and go back to this toy again and again. I only have a few complaints about it (why it only got 3 stars). First of all, the music is really loud even on the low volume setting (my boys have also figured out how to make it go to the high volume setting, which is...

4.0 out of 5 stars This Toy Will Stick Around Till They're 3!, April 1, 2005

My twin daughters got this toy for Christmas when they were 8 months old. At that time, they really enjoyed watching the ball roll down the track, listening to the music, watching the lights, etc. Of course, they were not yet able to put the balls in themselves. However, their elementary school brothers didn't seem to mind doing this for them, and I must admit, even without them! There is actually alot you can do with this toy. You can change the path the ball takes by pulling out the little gate about half way down, and it makes the ball roll onto the ferris wheel. You can also make the ball drop from "seat" to "seat" on the ferris wheel. The buttons do different things at different times, and my boys had fun figuring out how to change the functions which were somewhat unpredictable. My girls are now one year old and starting to pick up the balls and put them into the top. In a few months, they will probably figure out how to turn the ferris wheel. After that, they will probably enjoy predicting where the ball will go, changing it's path, etc. The only thing I didn't like about this toy is that it isn't very stable and can be pulled down toward the child if they are in a crawling position and trying to pull up to kneeling or standing. This was somewhat solved by pushing it up against a wall, but I did't trust it until they finished with this stage of development. Looking back, I'd probably wait and introduce this toy at about 1 year of age, but it's well worth it anyway because it should keep them interested until they're around 3. I must admit that my husband and I may need to put it away between now and then for a little respite, however, because as with many baby toys we are getting a little tired of the music... "We're going to play at the fair...there's lights and sounds everywhere...." Ugh!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is one cute toy, October 9, 2005

When my daughter opened this on her 1st birthday my immediate thought was - Oh, another keyboard (She got 4 this year). This is one cute toy. It has so many functions that I am sure she will use more and more of as she gets older. It does have a keyboard but also plays individual songs, is a ball drop and teaches cause and effect. Its bright colored and lights up and isnt tooo loud. One HUGE point with me is, it comes with 4 balls. AND its built to STORE the balls when not in use. She has a FisherPrice ball drop toy that the balls are all over our house because there is nowhere to store them.

Now granted, my daughter hasnt had this very long so we have not had time to get sick of the main song but so far she really loves it and is exploring all of the different things it does. I believe this toy has staying power. I just wish it was a little sturdier. She tries to pull up on it to put the balls in the top and it topples right over.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Toy, January 5, 2006

My daugher received as a 1st year gift at Christmas and loved it. The first one we received was broken, no sound just lights but we returned it and are happy with the replacement. Out of all her toys this was her favorite this year. Many Vtech toys purchased in earlier years for my son were not as popular so I think this is a winner and recommended for a 1 year old.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves this toy!!, November 5, 2005
This review is from: V Tech - Play & Learn Fun Fair (Toy)
My son is almost 1 year and we've had this toy for a couple of months now. It took him a while to warm up to it, but now it is his top choice of all his other toys. The only things I do not like about it are: it is easy to knock over and the grammer is a little messed up (it says "look it all the different shapes"). I love that this toy has so many different modes, counting, shapes, colors, music, etc. My son is so taken by these different modes that he doesn't really care about the balls yet. It also has storage for the balls when not in use!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy!, February 15, 2007
This review is from: V Tech - Play & Learn Fun Fair (Toy)
I bought this for my daughter when she was 9 months old. She absolutely loves it. She has played with it every day since I bought it two months ago. The self-storage for the balls is great. The only complaint I have is that there's no way a small child can push the ball past the button on the top to get it to spiral down. She puts the ball in the top and wants me to push it through for her. That was fine the first thousand times, but it would be nice if she could do it herself.

This is definitely a good toy to buy that really keeps my boys' attention. They love the balls and the keyboard and go back to this toy again and again. I only have a few complaints about it (why it only got 3 stars). First of all, the music is really loud even on the low volume setting (my boys have also figured out how to make it go to the high volume setting, which is very loud). I am not usually one to complain about volume, but this one seems louder than many of their other toys. I don't like the music, but my boys do, which is the important thing. The ball storage is a nice feature since I have soooo many balls from the different toys that they have, but the door to the storage area is not real tight and opens when I pick up the toy to put it away, sending the balls wherever. Each ball is supposed to change the function on the toy to music, numbers, colors, shapes, etc, but I have noticed that after a lot of play the toy doesn't always respond correctly (the music ball sometimes changes the setting to numbers, etc). My boys don't mind and it is still educational despite that. My only other complaint about this toy is that the stickers on it have not held up at all. My boys have had this toy for about 6 months and two of the stickers have worn away. Granted, they play with this toy all of the time and it gets abused by two boys, but most of their other toys' stickers have stayed in good condition, even toys that they have had longer or that were handed down to them. It is engaging and will keep their attention, so I do recommend it if none of the complaints are an issue for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars My daughter enjoys this toy, December 11, 2006

I have to admit, I wasn't sure my daughter would enjoy this toy when she received it from a family member. But, she has liked it ever since the beginning, and still enjoys playing with it. But, I think there's a design flaw. The balls are too hard for small children to push into the toy. I've had to help her until just recently (she's now 18 months) - she would get frustrated otherwise. This toy does have a lot of cute buttons, but my daughter enjoys the balls mostly. It lights up and plays lots of music, so it's definitely entertaining for kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed, April 12, 2006

When my son received this for a Christmas gift we actually did not open it right away. We though he (16 mo at the time) would grow out of it too soon and thought we would return it for something that would last longer. After he was always going to the box we gave in. This has been one of the most popular toys in our house - especially when friends and my nephew (5!!) come over! It's taken several dives off the coffee table and shows no damage. It is a very entertaining toy for my son. My only issue is that I don't like the voice for some of the rhymes - but obviously that's personal! I definitely recommend this toy for 12 mo and up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grandaughter loves it., July 20, 2005
This review is from: V Tech - Play & Learn Fun Fair (Toy)

My 9 month old granddaughter is so taken with this toy. She patiently sits and moves the shift and turns the steering wheel as if she were actually driving! I don't think the manufacturer thought little girls would be playing with this as one comment recorded when they shift is "slow down little fellow". I think it should say "little one", not little fellow!
