I enjoy playing guitar but sometimes you can disturb others when you play like in hotel rooms etc. I bought this equipment on a whim... but I was supprised at the quality of this product! This thing is killer! It sounds like a marshall stack in the head phones I even plugged it through the board at my Recording Studio and it sounded great! I would recommend this product...

3.0 out of 5 stars All the features...except good sound
I really wanted this to be the one, but the sound and material quality is poor. I returned this and bought the Danelectro Honey Tone for about $20, it has much better sound quality. They have all the features right but the sound quality, (poor tone, and effects are noisy/buzzy) and material quality is poor. Cheap plastic case, poor battery door, poor printing on the case...

Hope they improve it, it is a great product idea, and made in the USA, but where's the quality, especially for this high price? If it was $30 I wouldn't be complaining, well, OK, the Honey Tone still sounds better, so I guess I would. Just my 2-Cents worth, try it your self!

2.0 out of 5 stars Awful. Just a terrible product., July 10, 2009
This review is from: C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier
I bought this after reading some good reviews here and elsewhere, and got it new for [...]. Seems like a pretty good deal? No.

The thing is cheaply made, as everyone else said, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Most of the effects are just about unusable. The reverb has a horrible amount of noise in the background. The "clean" mode is still distorted, though some playing with your guitar volume can help change that. My 70 dollar multi-effects pedal sounds like glistening ambrosia compared to this.

I'm no guitar tone snob, but the tone of this thing was god awful. Even once I replaced their crummy headphones with my good ones. Also, the metronome is painfully loud if you use in-ear headphones, and only comes in about 7 tempos (don't remember exactly). I can't tell much difference between their two available metronome volume levels.
The tuner is not a tuner in the conventional sense, but rather a simple note player that you tune to.

The settings are all navigated with a voice that distorts a bit based on what settings you have activated.

All in all, I just wanted something decent and I was horribly disappointed. Wish I could return it. Don't buy this, or at least without trying it first.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought this for travel, April 5, 2008

I purchased the V2 so that I could use it while traveling. It's very small and offers a lot of nice features. I like that it has a tuner and metronome built in.

The headphones are extremely cheap and can be thrown out and replaced with your favorite pair. What stands out most with this unit is the very poor build quality. I'm constantly worried about breaking it because it seems so delicate.

I like the Danelectro HoneyTone better for sound, but for features and portability, the V2 is better, even though it's overpriced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable, March 10, 2006
This review is from: C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier
I have been waiting for this product for several years and i must say the guy's at C-tech really nailed it. The distortion tones are great - particulalrly if your a better player with an ear for tone - and the single coil, humbucker amp customization is pretty cool. It makes a big difference. The Delay effects are pretty good, certainly considering this little buugger does everything on a 9 volt battery. To be sure, the delays are not as good or flexible as what you can get from any of the garden variety DSP delay pedals, but the convenience of of having everything at your finger tips including tunner & click-track, AND the fact that it plugs directly into the guitar makes this thing killer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great, till it breaks., February 26, 2010

I bought this as an option to get stereo in from a cd or ipod, to play along with my guitar. It is great for that, and I think it sounds great. But keep in mind, it is not made well. There is a typo on it for "filter" a friend of mine caught, and the input output labels are reversed. From day one, I couldn't get the battery cover to close without the chance of breaking the unit(I now just leave it off), and it has since developed a really high pitched squeal. It did what I wanted it to when I got it, but don't expect it to last forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars After a year and a half..., November 2, 2010
This review is from: C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier
...I'm basically pretty happy with my V2. I use it at least 10 hours weekly, and it works perfectly fine, needing a new 9V battery every two to three weeks. I agree that it is =not= made like an anvil case nor like my Boss multi stomp box setup. It's delicate by comparison and requires respectful treatment. Neither does it allow for the accuracy or range of effects one would expect of something many times it size. But I am purchasing a second one today (to put in the case with another guitar so that I don't have to swap it constantly) because it =is= more than utilitarian and has contributed considerably to my skill base.

Great little practice guitar amp. Easy to use. Takes a little getting use to for controls due to they are where your cord plugs in. Sounds great for practicing in a head phone.

1.0 out of 5 stars yesterday was halloween, November 1, 2007

I needed headphones so I could practice my guitar at night and I saw this thing and I thought it would be very good and cool because of all its features like clean and distorted sounds, reverb, delay, a metronome, tuner plus you just stick it into your guitar and all it needs is a 9 volt battery.

Anyways when I got this it seems kind of cheap and like it could break easily and some of the paint was scratched off its logo. There are only a few instructins on the box which really didn't help much but most of it is self explanitory. The sound quality isn't that good and all the special features sound annoying. However the worst thing was how I would be in the middle of playing and this thing would just shut off after a few minutes. First I just thought it was an automatic thing but it doesn't say that anywhere on the box and like I said I would be in the middle of playing when it would shut off. I tried changing batteries but it kept on shutting off. After that I decided to return it which was very easy and I got my money back very quickly.

I wouldn't recommend this to any one because it sucks especialy for the price but if you do decide to get it don't worry because like I said it'll be easy to get your money back after you realize how bad it is.
