It provides an understandable connection of the Internet, telecommunications, and computing technologies with the real world of business." Gerald Peterson, Member Board of Governors IEEE-SA, Past Chairman Standards Committee T1, Senior Manager Lucent Technologies - Bell Labs "In Tech Trending, Amy Zuckerman provides practical guidance to both those influencing technology and those still trying to cope with technology's rapid rate of change and tremendous impact on global businesses. Editorial Reviews

Review

"...provides a commendable roadmap for achieving that mindset. If you do not know where to start, start here." (Information Age, October 2001)

From the Inside Flap

Tech Trending The real technology visionaries don't talk about electronic commerce, or buying and selling on the World Wide Web. They're preparing for a networked world where tech trending-professionals operate their companies from the Web. Each day we will log onto our company website and operate from its web-based work stations. The Internet will be able to read and transmit all the information required to operate within an electronic supply network. Whatever software we need to run our businesses will be downloaded from service centers based on the Web. And thanks to the evolution of wireless technology we will be able to run our businesses en route to east Afghanistan carrying only a cell phone and a laptop. Much change must take place for the dream of a networked world to become reality. Tech Trending is both a visionary book and a practical guide to preparing yourself and your company for the networked world of the not-too-distant future. Amy Zuckerman offers advice on the technology trends that are here to stay and how to organize your business to meet the demands of technology change. Most importantly, it puts you, as tech trending professionals, firmly in the driver's seat by offering help on tracking technology change, managing your business in the new world and training employees to meet technology change and technology demands.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy Reading Material for Managers, March 7, 2002

Kiat (Singapore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tech Trending: A Visionary Guide to controlling your Technology Future (Hardcover)
I read the book hoping to find some new ways to addressing the problems I face while introducing new technology to my organisation. Some of the approach are quite standard but at least I know that the things I am doing is not too far off.

Would recommend this to the managers, especially those who do not have IT background as the author explains the terms clearly. However, if more case studies were available, it would have been much easier to grasp the concepts. The author could have gone down to more details.
