3.0 out of 5 stars Tech 4 O Sorbet Fitness Watch
The biggest problem I've had with this watch is the initial set-up. The user's manual is not-at-all user friendly. However, after working with the manual and a great deal of trial and error, I was able to program it to fit me. It may have been the operator but - I got several different results for stride. i need to make this review short and simple but i just wanted to say how much i love my watch. im training for the marathon but cant afford one of those gps watches so i opted to purchase this one with a pedometer on it. i originally read a really bad review on it saying that the directions were hard to follow so i was nervous. BUT i received it, and it was SO EASY TO USE. my next concern was that i would have to calibrate the pedometer which i hate doing, but when i went on the treadmill it was to the point even when i changed speeds. now when i go out with my running group my pedometer reads the same as their gps watches! plus, its not as big and bulky as those other watches, but the numbers showing are big. I LOVE THIS WATCH!!! if it ever broke, i would definitely purchase another one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pedometer! And it's pink!, November 29, 2010

Pros:
Initial setup was very easy following the directions.
Accurately tracks steps, distance, and calories.
No configuration after initial setup.

Cons:
Small circumference band. (I am not a big person and I have to wear it on the last hole).

Overall: Great wrist pedometer for those of use that cannot afford a GPS version. Many different settings, so it can be customized to what you want, just read the instructions so you know what you are doing.

4.0 out of 5 stars simple and useful, January 7, 2011

i like this. no issues for me at. got rid of garmin forerunner 305 bc it was too big for my wrist.
this watch is simple. you calibrate and record your pace + walking distance, then i guess the acclerator uses that to calculate your future runs.
but bc the measurements are based off on YOUR calibration, beware that your final distance/cal/time may be off each and every run (unless you run at the same pace EVERY time). i once ran 9.5 miles but it recorded 10.5. you just have to calibrate as accurately as you can. if you're not really big on keeping super accurate distance and time, but happy with just knowing ballpark figures, then this is perfect for you.

However, after working with the manual and a great deal of trial and error, I was able to program it to fit me. It may have been the operator but - I got several different results for stride. It may be a good idea to calculate your stride via internet links to confirm.
Overall - I am satisfied with the results vs. the price I paid. I would say that this is a good beginners watch for a beginner athlete.

Im still not sure about the accuracy of this watch, I think I need to calibrate it outside (I did it on the treadmill and I run outside). I havent done it so far 'cause I think its more or less accurate, I dont think it gives you the exact mileage but it gives you a pretty good idea of how much you are running. Its very easy to set up/calibrate, it comes with a manual that tells you step by step what to do. It looks complicated but believe me, it is VERY easy to do. To calibrate it you have to run/walk (whichever you do) so that it can measure your stride. Thats it.

I think its a good watch for the price paid. Im very satisfied with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch, Great Price: Your Questions Answered, August 10, 2011

I have to admit I had a lot of questions about this watch. I had read the reviews about calibration and other issues. Bottom line: this watch does what is promises, but you have to be willing to figure it out.

The calibration is not self-explanatory (and none of the directions are really - unless you are maybe an engineer). I run 3 miles a day and have for a while. I bought this watch to see my calories burned and my distance while running.I calibrated a walking distance of 0.1 and a running distance of 0.25 because when the watch arrived I had already run for the day. The directions don't tell you how much of a distance you need to calibrate or when to stop. I just hit escape when I was finished and it showed my stride legnth. I wasn't sure if this would be adequate, but it was. This watch has some cool features like a countdown timer, a 3-item display (calories, distance, speed) and saves up to 10 runs.

It's also ok if you don't run/walk the same distance each time. You can change your stride length if you are going slower once in a while. It can also distiguish when you are running or walking - which made me immediately love it! The display is hard to see in dim light. There is a light function, but I haven't figured out how to turn it on.

The trick with this watch is that the arm it is on must be moving for it to work. So, for example, if you change songs on your mp3 or hold a water bottle while running, don't put it on that arm. Still this is much better than a chest belt or a shoe band. All you need is the watch.

The metal buttons on the side are easy to push, which is a plus when running and the band is very comfortable.

If you are trying to get a general measure of your distance without spending a fortune - buy this. It's a smart watch and does much more than it should for the price. I love it!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great abilities, uncomfortable wear, March 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tech4o Accelerator Women's Fitness - Watch (Sorbet) (Sports)
I was really expecting to be blown away with how cool this watch is, but in reality it's not that great. It can do some pretty cool things (pedometer, distance, timer, alarms, lots of personal settings) but it really lacks in comfort. The watch face is really thick so it sticks up high off your wrist. It's like 3/4" thick, which just doesn't look very good. The other thing is that I have very thin wrists and in order to comfortably wear this watch I have to wear it on the third to last hole. On the inside of the band, there are these ridges that run down the band and dig into your skin if it's too tight. I guess this is probably to keep it in place, but it hurts and leaves lines on my wrist after taking it off. Overall, it's pretty cool, has some nice features, but is terrible to wear. I wouldn't pay over $40 for this watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars A pretty good buy, March 13, 2011

I've had this watch for a few months and I bought it to use for running training, but now am hoping to use it during triathlons. It's distance reading is usually within a quarter mile of my actual run distance (I usually run between 3 and 8 miles). Make sure to calibrate it every so often, especially if you are a runner whose pace is drastically improving during training.

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not it's waterproof, and I'm afraid to take it in the pool with me.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little intimidating at first, September 27, 2010
This review is from: Tech4o Accelerator Women's Fitness - Watch (Sorbet) (Sports)
I'll list some of the pros and cons.

Pros: Nice stylish look, easy to read, pretty accurate if you are moving your arms while walking.

Cons: Band is very small (I am small framed and I can only put it 3 up from bottom which leaves a short piece for the slide loop to hold it down). So if you have a larger wrist, it won't fit. Little intimidating at first on how to program it, but it got easier, If you are brushing your hair, doing any arm movement, it will calculate the steps. Might get an extra 1k steps/day. If you're pushing a shopping cart, stroller, it may not register all your steps.

I wear this watch in conjunction w/a 3 axis pedometer on my waist.
