I compared many stands before choosing this one which surpassed my expectations and fit my needs perfectly. Here's why -

1. Looks terrific, with deep black tempered glass shelves and rich looking vertical support columns

2. Well-built. This stand is substantial, heavy, solid from end to end.

3. Easy to install (two people needed). Only a few screws required to hold the entire unit together, hex screwdriver included.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Two 8" high shelves allow stacking audio-visual components both 2-high per shelf, and 2 horizontally per shelf. I easily fit -

- Cable box

- CD player

- DVD player

- VCR

- Amplifier

- Tape cassette player

- Wii console

Nearly every other stand I evaluated that could accommodate a 46-52" flat panel TV didn't have high or wide enough shelves to fit A/V components double-high or double across.

Price paid April 2009 was $227 through Amazon, with free super-saver shipping.

The stand was delivered as promised. It was easy to put together except that I did not notice that the glass was not finished the same on each side. Glossy side on top and slightly duller on the bottom side. I had to take it apart and reassemble with the glossy side up. The real only problem I had was that the box it was delivered in looked like it went through two world wars and a Chicago gang fight. It was all wet and had been for a long time.

The best stand for your money...looks great and will handle large screen TVs. Assembly is a breeze. Buy it.
