Since we purchased it this Spring, my Samsung 42" plasma has been sitting on an old corner TV stand. It was time for a change. I looked at numerous stands, online and in person and landed on this Techcraft model. The style is exactly what we were looking for, straight lines, very simple, and a great price. The stand is extremely well made, assembly took about 20 minutes and it looks great with my TV and associated components; DirecTV box, Sony DVD player, and Wii console. The solid piece supporting the back provides a certain amount of cable management allowing you to hide the majority of your cables. Best of all, UPS delivered this to my front door in two days (I am a Prime member, I highly recommend this membership if you do any amount of shopping with Amazon) with no sales tax. Highly recommend.

I was apprehensive of the quality of product I would get when I first ordered it. It's the usual "how good can it be when it's so cheap" mentality. Fortunately, this product turned out to be pretty good. All the parts that were supposed to be in the package were there, which is always a good thing. The instructions were pretty straightforward and they also warned, at the appropriate moment, when one would need more than two hands to finish the job. That happened when the top shelf had to be soft of "place" atop these metal bushes before tightening everything up. Fortunately for me, my daughter was around and she helped accomplish that. The only quibble I would have is the overall design of the stand. It does not really have 4 legs with the back being something of the 3rd corner of a triangle. It gives me the impression that it could topple, so I am slightly worried. On the other hand, because this stand is in the corner of our living room, no one goes there, not even one of our cats. So I don't think (hope not) that anything will happen. But the fit and finish is excellent and it's done a good job so far.

The stand basically consists of 3 panes of tempered glass enclosed in a steel/aluminum frame--all black. It's very simple in design and there are no sides to it so it doesn't trap heat from your video or gaming hardware which may be an issue for some. It is a lot heavier than I thought it would be so it is very stable. I guess if you don't like cleaning glass surfaces, then this isn't the stand for you.

I bought this on the basis of a) price, b) positive reviews, and c) appearance, despite my unease about the durability of cheap furniture and especially of cheap glass-shelved storage units. This seems, however, to be solid, sturdy, and well-engineered piece. Assembly was completely straightforward -- took me (arthritic 56-year-old lady working solo) about 20 minutes, and although putting the top shelf in place single-handed requires some care and effort, it's certainly possible. The unit is very attractive, although I can tell the dark glass will be a bit of a dust magnet. Fits my new 42" TV perfectly. I'm very pleased!

I needed a sleek, good looking TV table - that I could put together myself. After a lot of net surfing I found and bought this one: ASIN:B001TR6N8Q Techcraft Bernini Series BG4020 42-Inch Flat Panel TV Stand. It's drop dead gorgeous - very clean lines/good proportions, and made of black glass, and I was able to assemble it myself. If you can get help to lay it flat, (it's a little heavy in the box) once you open it you can assemble it on your own. A little hint; at the last step, when you put on the top, wedge some styrofoam from the packing in, to keep the top level as you tighten.
When you're done and everything is in place ...just stand back and stare. That's what I do. It's so gorgeous!

The first stand arrived and the top piece of glass was shattered. Amazon was quick to send a replacement item and pick up the broken stand. Unfortunately, the second stand also had a piece of shattered glass inside (same piece). Again, Amazon was quick to issue a full refund for the item and arrange for the broken stand to be picked up by UPS. Although, I would not recommend this stand being purchased by mail, I want to compliment Amazon's excellent customer service relating to this matter.

I researched many tv stands priced from "cheap" to "as much as the tv itself". I chose this model as it looked sturdy, funtional, and was at a reasonable price. I was not disappointed as it lived up to my expectations. Only one slight word of caution. The tempered glass is not supported on the back corners, but as long as your tv and components are kept centered in a logical position with no other heavy items positioned on those back corners, it will be just fine. I was/am very pleased with this item.

This one was still a good investment. Just look at it! It's a work of art, and it won't stain when I rest a drink on it. I was a little worried about it because other reviews said that 1) it's difficult to assemble by yourself, 2) it doesn't have a four-legged base, and 3) the dimensions said it was only 19.5 inches high. Well...

1) I assembled it myself, and it wasn't hard. The tricky part was getting the top piece aligned because you need to rest it on hollow cylinders and screw it in from underneath. I looked at the directions and thought I'd need help from my cousin. NOPE! Just got a little scotch tape to hold the cylinders to the glass piece, and then I rested it on the frame. Screwed them in easily from there.

2) No problems here so far. I've shaken the piece to test its sturdiness, and it's stable. Besides, I'm not going to store anything heavy on either of the rear corners like a cast-iron skillet or a jar of coins or a fat baby.

3) Yes, lower than my old tv stand, but it's fine. Sit on the couch 8 ft. away and it makes little difference.

it definitely takes two people to assemble this stand, but once you have it together, it is sturdy and beautiful.
