Nice fit and finish at a good price. It is darker than the picture. I don't know why one reviewer had trouble putting it together; everything fit together better than any other boxed furniture I've assembled. All of the holes matched up. The only tool needed is a medium size Phillips screwdriver. The instructions are pretty much just drawings, but they are clear and there is nothing complicated about the assembly. (If you've never encountered those screw-disks before, just know to insert them so the opening points to where the screw will be inserted.)

Two recommendations on putting this together: (1) Use a power screwdriver/drill. My drill battery was drained, so I turned all screws by hand. The 20 screws for the back panels and 28 for the door left me a little sore and blistered. (2) Put the shelves in before adjusting the doors. This is probably obvious to everyone else, but I wasted a lot of time trying to adjust the doors so they met before I realized the shelves serve as a stop. After that, adjusting the doors was easy. Turning the "width" screw on each latch did it for me. I adjusted the doors so there was maybe a quarter-inch gap between the door and the side, using a flashlight to check that the gap was consistent from top to bottom.

A friend recently moved cross country and got rid of most of her furniture before moving. She had been using an old bookcase for her TV stand and had pretty limited space in her living room. I sent this to her as a house warming gift. She was THRILLED with it. When she called to say thank you, she reported "Wow, this is my only real piece of 'grown up' furniture!" She really likes the slight bowing on the sides and said that the finish is even and rich in color. She said that it gave the piece real character. She did said that it did take her a couple hours to put together but once it was together, it was very stable and was didn't have any wobble even with her heavy television on it. I'm tempted to replace my existing entertainment center with the larger version of this product after hearing her response to it. I would highly recommend it...as would she. :)

We had been looking for an audio cabinet for months because of a room reconfiguration. These turned out to be the perfect size and color for the area. The directions were not "Step by step" but were easy enough to work through. The first cabnet (we ordered 2) went together in about 1 1/2 hours. The second took about 40 minutes. The cabnets are solid, hold large audio equipment and have enough air to keep things cool. The glass hinged doors fit and work well and are really easy to adjust if needed. The only improvement that could be made would be to the back of the cabinet. The back comes in 2 pieces (which can leave a gap in the middle if you're not careful with assembly and the "Cut outs" for wire access are not optional, they are pre cut and open. All in all we are very happy with the purchase and would do it again. Delivery was quick and everything arrived in great shape.

This ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinet was actually an enjoyable project to build (with two people), and the finished cabinet is a handsome addition to our living room. The packing of the parts is a work of art that fully protected everything from any damage during shipping. The reviews of others were invaluable to us for two reasons: a) they accurately pointed to a well-designed product that is a great value for the money and b) gave us tips based on the real-world experiences of others that helped us avoid frustrating and puzzling challenges along the way. Most RTA instruction booklets leave out, incorrectly identify, or inaccurately explain the project ... and this one's no exception. You won't be sorry you spent the time looking over other reviews, especially about the use of a manual vs. power tool; the shelving going in prior to the doors going on; and the adjustment of the doors. Our booklet actually had an illustration that was for a different hinge (and with inaccurate direction for changing door height). The reality is that a 1/8" difference can't be seen from the perspective of a standing adult ... or one across the room viewing the TV. Sometimes we look for perfection where it isn't called for. Bottom line: a great buy, a sturdy cabinet, a good looking finish and design.

I just received this and put it together today. I've purchased a fair amount of "assemble it yourself" furniture over the years and this one is probably one of the sharpest looking in that category I've had to date. I was very pleased with the color and the weight of the pieces when I took them out of the box. I also put it together myself without much trouble and I'm not particularly skilled when it comes to handiwork. It took me an hour to an hour and a half (because I screwed all the screws in with just a screwdriver). The only thing I had some issues with were aligning the doors (like others have mentioned) but because I was expecting that problem I don't really mind they are off a bit. This tends to be a common issue with any doors and furniture you need to assemble yourself. I'll probably have someone more handy check them out and see if they can be adjusted a bit. Overall - this is a nice piece and I'm using if for a flat screen 32" in my bedroom. It's the perfect height for viewing from bed. I moved my components off center some so I can see the clocks or displays on them - otherwise the wood part of the doors tends to block them. I'd recommend it - I shopped around online for quite some time looking for a nice piece that was high enough and had closing glass doors - this definitely fits the bill.

Also - Amazon had the best price on it (racks and stands is the other good option online) and shipping speed and price (free because I have Amazon Prime) closed the deal for me. If I can find other furniture for my bedroom to match this color I definitely think it would fit in with an "official" bedroom set. I'll probably check out Techcraft for my living room tv stand as well!

The item is exactly as described. There are nine major wooden pieces, eight or so cam locks, a dozen or so screws for the back panel, and a few dowels. I spent a little under an hour assembling. Very simple, very good instructions. I truly cannot imagine anyone having difficulty assembling. Just have an electric screwdriver to put the backing on, else you'll have tired hands after the dozen or so screws.

Once assembled the piece is very sturdy but not especially heavy. I have a PC, Tivo, PS3, XBox 360, large surge protector, and several remotes stored inside with room for a few more remotes. The slits on the backing are large and well placed. The glass is tempered and feels very secure. The knobs are somewhat small, but the hinges on the unit are fantastic (much better than they should be at this price). Also, the screws for the cams are plastic over metal--also unexpected for a unit less than $200.

When I finally finished putting this together, and installed my 46" Samsung lcd, it looked pretty good. However, I found it quite difficult to put together. The instructions a bare bones; but with some effort I was able to complete it in about 2 hours. Now that it is done I have to admit I like it a lot. If you are handy, give it a try.

The stand arrived promtly in excellent condition. After studying the directions, I was able to assemble the product fairly easily. The door hinges took a little time but I was successful in getting them on so everything was even and worked. We did not put the cardboard back on because it was easier for us to connect our TV, DVR, DVD player etc without the small openings to navigate. Yes, we would purchase this product again. Excellent quality for the price.

The color is darker than what it appears in the ad. That was acceptable for me , all of my living room furniture is dark wood. It holds my cable box, DVD player, amp and CD Player. There is ample room to hold my collection of dvd's.
Putting it together was a feat that does require two people. Once together you will find the credenza is sturdy and looks beautiful.

We love it. We put it together easily and it looks great in our room. The only downside was the knobs. We didn't like them, but bought replacements for $6 and they look great.
