Once I got it all assembled, I am pleased with the product.

It has clean lines, great wood grain and color. It really looks like furniture you would purchase from a furniture store. I've put 2 coats of Old English furniture polish on it already :) and I am very pleased.

I found the installation instructions a little "abstract" at first, but once I got out all the parts and matched them up with the pictures, the concept come together. I would recommend that you DO NOT use a power screwdriver tool, due to the screws are pretty soft and may cause stripping the screw heads--all are Philips screws.

I found no damages but that could be because I went to the Circuit City store and picked it up myself, rather than it being shipped via ground shipping to me. The outer cardboard box it comes in is not heavy enough for something that weights nearly 100 pounds. The box is too flimsy to take much rough handling. I can see if it has to endure much handling in shipping, the outer cardboard could weaken and become mashed.

It took me between 1 and 1.5 hrs to assemble, but I took a few breaks in between.

Based on the cost and it's style, appearance, and functionality; I would definitely recommend it to others and would consider purchasing similar pieces from Tech Craft.

I decided to check this model out at my local Sears before purchasing online. Boy, am I glad I did.

First of all, every joint needs to be reinforced with wood glue (not included). Don't think you are simply going to put this together with the hardware that's included and it is going to stay that way. You need the wood glue to reinforce all of those joints.

As for the material, it is pretty solid composite pressboard with a VERY thin wood "veneer" on it. I nicked the "veneer" with my thumbnail easily. If you have kids or expect to set things on this without leaving a mark, you are out of your mind! The material itself seems very sturdy...this is no paper-thin pressboard and is a heavy unit, but it's appearance is not going to stand up to much. In addition, the doors use cheap hinges and do not fit squarely.

Also, this unit is very short. My wife said it looked too small even for our tiny living room.

There are some good things about this piece: The shelves are adjustable and can fit pretty much any component you have, it LOOKS great, and the material can physically (NOT cosmetically) probably stand up to a bit of use.

Think carefully before buying this. It may be great for your first apartment, but if you are looking for furniture that is going to last you for 5-10 years, this is certainly not what you want. It LOOKS great when it is freshly assembled, but that won't last long.

I'm very pleased with this product. Because of earlier comments, I was concerned about the shipping and assembly. But it came packed very well, with individual pieces separated as needed by styrofoam. As for assembly, all the parts were in bubble packs and easy to identify, and the instructions were clear. There is a lot to assemble, but it went together in a straightforward manner. All dimensions were very accurate.

I'm very satisfied with the product.

I could have given this unit 5 stars if the directions were better. The advice to use glue when installing the dowls was a good one. Do NOT use Gorilla glue unless you like to have a lot of clean-up with mineral spirits. The product is of good quality. I paid a lot less for it because I bought it from Circuit City while they were going out of business. I had a broken glass on one door and I put a request in for a new door from Techcraft. I will try to update this if I get a good response from them.

I have a room with all cherry furniture and a cherry floor as well. This was a good addition to the room. Once the back is screwed on, the entire unit is much more stable and solid. The vaneers are of good quality. You can find this cheaper if you search the net, but I think if you take shipping into consideration, Amazon will be a best buy. I paid $109, nd it is well worth double that. This would be great to hold a big DLP TV.

UPDATE: TechCraft did send me a new door to replace the door with broken glass. They did that for no cost to me. It took me a few calls, and two emails, but they eventually sent it with no further problems.

This TV stand is high-quality and looks great. I have many nice pieces of furniture from travels in England and Germany and I have received as many kudos for this "mail-order" stand as some antiques I own. This TV stand is stylish and well built...you can't go wrong by ordering this item.

I had bought a new 46 inch lcd and needed a stand.I saw that Amazon carried the Techcraft Veneto 48 inch stand and decided to purchase it. The picture on the web site matched my furnishing and when I recieved it, the material looked much better that the picture. It took me about 1 hour to assemble and with my new 46 inch lcd the combination looks fantastic. Before my purchase with Amazon I priced tv stands at my local stores and the prices were higher and the quality was lower. This stand fits my needs and it will fit anyone who desires a stand that looks like a nice piece of furniture and the cost is reasonable. Also the delivery was in three days...

I love my new TV stand. My boyfriend put it together so not sure how easy that was. It looks great though!! I hear this has been discontinued as I had to go through 4 different vendors b/f I actually received. Many sites SAID they had it but none did. Amazon finally came through.

This unit is heavy! So if you're not fairly strong, it will require 2 people to safely (for you and the stand) get into your home. The packing is not the most sturdy but seems to be industry standard. Mine arrived somewhat tattered and battered by the trip but intact on the inside (UPS.) My home is ground level and I am somewhat larger than average so I had no problem bringing it inside, but stairs without a hand truck would be a real problem. Assembly is on the IKEA level of complexity. I recommend using wood cement on the dowel pins and wood to wood edges to make the unit tighter, but it was sturdy and attractive. A good buy for the money: stout, attractive, room for all the electronics.

Purchased at Sears and spent $300 on this item and it was a disappointing experience from the moment I opened the box. Firstly, so much glue was utilized in the packaging that little chips and dust from the glue went all over my floors when I opened the package. Upon opening the very first piece was marred and the paint was uneven.

All hardware comes neatly packaged in a plastic container with a cardboard back. Shame that its impossible to remove the cardboard backing without spilling all the screws, washers and wood pegs everywhere. Good organization of parts, poor design of packaging.

Assembly is easy. Instructions are straight forward and are very clear. This however does not make up for the low quality of the components. When installing the heavy cardboard backing my hands got covered in black paint. The whole unit emanates an odor of petroleum.

When completed the item is aesthetically decent from the front. It is a facade covering up poor workmanship and cheap materials.

I feel like I've been fleeced. If you have an Ikea near you, I would recommend a substitute from their product line. Although materials are inexpensive, finishes are usually dependable (i.e., you won't walk away with hands covered in paint and a living room that smells like a chemical depot).

The Amazon price is closer to what this product is worth.

I bought this after seeing it in the store. I got it and was pleased to see that the color of the wood matched the rest of my furniture. It was easy to put together, even given the fact that I was doing it myself and a curious puppy running around. The instructions could have been a little clearer, but other than that it went together with no problem.

I was a little worried about the fact that my TV is a 55" but it lookes fine.
