This stand looks awesome and is very sturdy. It's an excellent fit for the 82" Mitsubishi DLP TVs (WD-82xxx). For perfectionists, I probably should mention that it is not a 100% fit as the TV will stick out about 1/2" on each side. (TV is wider than stand).
The stand is very well packaged. The shipper had placed the package with the stand on a pallet *underneath* the 160lbs monster of a TV. Despite that the package was crushed and cracked open in shipping from AZ to NC, all parts were intact! Amazing. The stand was easy to assemble and is VERY sturdy. The stand ships with five 5/8" hard plastic feet with 1/4" thread. After assembling the unit, I realized that these feet probably provide too little surface and will dig into our hardwood floor and make the stand difficult to move for accessing the rear panel or for cleaning. (At least this is the case if you are placing this stand in a corner). Even without TV on top, the stand was difficult to move with the provided feet. I decided to replace the five feet with 1" felt padded feet by Feltgard #9908 from the Home Depot. These let the unit easily slide on a hardwood floor giving me easy access to the rear panel of the TV to connect/disconnect gear.

Purchased for my father to acompany the Mitsubishi WD-82737 both from Amazon. The product is not only very well built and easy to assemble it is a perfect match to the high gloss finish of the 737. My only complaint is I did not get one for the 837 I own myself!

I bought this stand for a new Mitsubishi 73" DLP projection TV. The TV, which is 65 inches wide, fits on this stand with room to spare. I could probably fit the 83" version of the TV without a problem.

The stand's frame is made of metal, and once assembled, feels very sturdy. The shelving is made of glass. I was worried about the glass shelves getting damaged during shipping, but they arrived in good shape. My only complaint is that the top shelf's black coating on the bottom had chipped off from two places, but since the TV is sitting on top of those two blemishes, it cannot be seen. Assembly of the stand was fairly easy, and the instructions were clear.

I bought this stand from one of the "Marketplace" vendors, 6Ave. Shipping was prompt, the product was new, and delivery by UPS was uneventful. Overall, a good buying experience.

I had originally planned to buy Mitsubishi's matching stand, but I found out that it was made of particle board while costing more than this stand. I'm glad that I chose this Tech-Craft stand instead. It is sturdy, and very nice looking. I'd recommend it.

As others have stated, this stand fits the 82" Mits TV like a glove. Only a couple of things to be aware of. If you're using this with the 82" Mits, there isn't room on the top shelf for your center channel speaker. In my case, the center channel speaker would not fit on second shelf and would only fit on the bottom shelf if you put it in from the center (with the top 2 shelves removed). Not a big deal, but if you have a larger speaker you'll want to make sure you have a place for it. Also for assembly, there are a couple of screws that are different sizes, but look almost identical. Make sure you identify them before putting it together.

I placed an order for this item from SHOPUST and nearly a week after I placed the order they raised their price and cancelled my existing order even though they had them in stock.

Update June 13, 2010:

I also tried ordering it from seller "6ave". They actually shipped it (via UPS, which is not very good at dealing with unusually large or heavy items - and this was both). Not surprisingly, the item was destroyed in transport and returned to 6ave by UPS before it even reached my house. 6ave did not have any more in stock. I do not know if this was a fluke, or if they usually only stock one of these at a time, but either way, I ended up having to order from a third company to actually get my my hands on one of these.

I ultimately ended up buying it from Crutchfield. It cost a little more, but was delivered super fast (and intact) by a freight company accustomed to dealing with items of this size and weight.

My recommendation: If you are ordering this online, save yourself some hassle and find out how the seller plans to ship it first.

Now onto the product itself:

I bought it to use with one of Mitsubishi's 82" TVs. The TV fits perfectly on it, the style matches the TV, and the stand is quite sturdy. I would definitely buy this stand again. The only thing that would improve it would be if the middle shelf were adjustable.

This stand is very solid - metal supports with thick glass which has imbeded metal attachment points in it. I am using it with the center shelf un-installed because of the size of my center channel (12" high). No issues with any kind of deflection due to the 140# TV that I'm using.
As an engineer by trade, I was concerned that any stand that I got would not be strong enough to use with a large space below it to fit my center channel speaker. When I got this (HEAVY) box in the mail, I had to take it apart in my basement and cart it up piece by piece because of the weight of the stand. The construction quality was excellent and the structure was sufficient that I felt I could assemble without the center shelf and have no issues with the weight.
Pros:
1) Perfect height for getting center of TV to seated eye height.
2) High quality construction and structure to support the weight ot TV and components.
3) Fits TV with 1/2" overhang on each side for 82" Mitsubishi
4) Installation instructions are clear and easy to follow.

Cons:
1) Very Heavy (~170#) and difficult to move by yourself.

Purchased from Amazon through Walt's. Shipping was fast and item was packaged well. Love this stand. It is pretty and sturdy. The instructions for assembly could have been better. I love the stand and it looks great!

This is a great product. I bought it for Mitsubishi Diamond Series WD-82838 82-Inch 1080p 3D DLP HDTV. It perfectly fits, and much better looking than Mitsubishi's stand. Assembly is pretty easy too. I strongly recommended it if you are planning to buy Mitsubishi 82-inch TV.

I would only recommend this if you want a quick, kind of inexpensive stand for the mitsubishi 82". It goes pretty well with that TV. It's a shame there aren't any better options out there though.

This item is too pricey though. It should be $200.

Setup was not too horrible, but it was a little bit of a pain.

Overall, it's a good product.
