4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Money
Except for a few snags in feeding - this little machine takes a beating and keeps on churning them out. Even in a busy real estate office. That says alot.

Keep in mind, I am speaking of Manufacter NOT seller of item. There is a difference.

3.0 out of 5 stars It takes patience!, December 30, 2008
This review is from: Techko LF283B Paper Folder, 1 Sheet at a time (Electronics)
I read the other (scathing) review - and I can relate, however, with enough patience the thing can be made to hum through a huge stack of folding in no time at all. The tricks are:

1. All three of the inserts (feeder and two fold adjusters) have to be seated properly, all the way in. The paper feeder tends to want to hang up before it seats, and if you don't get it all the way in it will mangle, mutilate and maim your printing.

2. Adjust, adjust, adjust the stops until it folds properly. The settings on the side are just approximations. Use the hand feeder until you get it adjusted the way you want it.

This unit does not do precision folds, like high-quality brochures. It is good for mailings and other approximately-right folds.

Once you get it set up for the fold you want, don't let anyone make any changes to it, like pulling the feeder for storage,or you have to start over again.

If you are not willing to take the time to do this, go ahead and spend a couple of thousand $$ on a really good one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than hand folding..., November 16, 2009

This product is quite fast, however there are some drawbacks. First, it is very loud...in the office setting, it is quite disruptive. Secondly, static seems to affect the way the papers fall into the catch basin, and the pile goes every which way. Third, every so often, a page goes through without the complete fold - just one flap. All in all, it is still much faster and more pleasant than hand folding.

We use this paper folder at the beginning of each month when we have to send out about 100 invoices. It is very fast and easy to use. We load up the invoices in batches of 30 and do not have any problems. It saves us at least an hour or so every month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get the settings right and it's perfect!, December 17, 2011
This review is from: Techko LF283B Paper Folder, 1 Sheet at a time (Electronics)
I could not be more pleased. For a small operation, it works fine for us. After reading all the reviews, I was skeptical. I took a chance and have been rewarded with an inexpensive folder that performs great. It is loud but it doesn't stay on long. One of my biggest concerns was if you put one paper in at a time (which would be a hassle) or how many you could put in que. The answer is 30 comfortably. Every once in a while it will fold two together. But they are still folded. Pull them apart and keep going. 30 pages fold in less than 60 seconds.
Well worth the price for the cost. I leave it set up and often use it for one-at-a-time folds now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for us!, January 26, 2011
This review is from: Techko LF283B Paper Folder, 1 Sheet at a time (Electronics)
We've had this paper folder for 2 years and it has worked flawlessly. However, we have very basic folding needs. We fold 100 - 200 sheets a day all at one time (in batches of 50 or so sheets at at time). We always fold single sheets of paper and they are always folded the same way (tri-fold). We haven't changed the setup since it was initially configured. It has been difficult to find replacement pickup pads.

Great machine, but you have to stay with it. Sometimes it grabs one than one sheet. Other than that, it is a great tool for the office. Just don't load it and walk away.

1.0 out of 5 stars Constantly Jams, March 30, 2009
The paper folder constantly jams and misfolds. It folds a paper in half just fine, but not into thirds. We mailed it back to the manufacturer for a replacement. The replacement constantly jams or misfolds just the same.
