Product Description

Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs 4ply comprises of 2 non-woven textile layers, which encapsulate a specially formulated cross-linked polyacrylate polyalcohol co-polymer refrigerant combined with a post treated trade secret formula. An additional 2 heavy duty plastic layers, containing a one-way microperforation technology are bonded to the textile layers. This ensures that this new model can withstand the harshest of operational climates with performance that can only be described as revolutionary. * "Re-usable dry ice?" A remarkable leap forward in ice pack technology utilising a cross-linked polyacrylate polymer that can be frozen right down to minus 190C (that's more than twice as cold as dry ice!).Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs is often frozen in blast freezers to minus 80C when used in dry ice applications. New Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs HDR model can be used very successfully even when frozen in domestic household freezers. Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs will freeze between minus 18C and minus 21C when the freezer is adjusted to the maximum setting. Techni Ice Instructions: 1.To hydrate your Techni Ice faster use warm water. 2.Keep Techni Ice fully immersed whilst hydrating the cells as water enters from both sides to activate polymer. 3.Scrunch sheets between hands while fully immersed in warm water until the air bubbles have escaped and cells have commenced hydration. Your Techni Ice is ready to use. Techni Ice Usage Tips-HDR Model Your techni ice sheets should start frozen and a gradual cold transfer will take place which slowly transfers the cold energy from techni ice into the perishables and drinks ,etc. which will eventually leave the Techni Ice cells in the softer state and the perishables and drinks icy cold for a long period . You will note that the Techni Ice cells still retain significant chill factor even in the eventual softer state.

Important Information

Indications
Usage: Techni Ice is a high-tech multi-purpose product that can be used as either a sheet of ice or a heat pack. And even though you've already frozen your sheets, simply defrost them and soon you will be able to use the Techni Ice as heat packs. With Techni Ice, you can reuse it over and over againAside from keeping your stuff cold, Techni Ice can also be heated and used as a heat pack for sore muscles, to keep your morning coffee hot, and much more. To heat the already hydrated Techni Ice, non-frozen, microwave one full sheet for 1 minute and then check to see if it's hot enough. If not, we recommend heating for another 30 second increments. Be sure to carefully check the heated Techni Ice before touching it, applying the sheet to your body, or placing it onto anything that might be damaged from extremely heat. Even though it provided good warmth to a cup of beverage, we found that because the cells are large, it was harder to wrap around a cup to maximize surface contact between the object and the Techni Ice HDR.

Ingredients
Storage: When not in use, the Techni Ice can be stored at room temperature or in the freezer. We do recommend that if you store the sheets in your kitchen cabinet or such, put them in a plastic bag but leave it open. When you need the Ice sheets, check to see if they need to be hydrated, then either heat or freeze.

Directions
Cleaning: Techni Ice is fully washable and nothing permanently adheres to the plastic outer plies. We found it extremely easy to wash off dirt, food stains, and fish slim and blood. Most of the time just blast the sheets with a garden hose in the yard will do the job, or in a kitchen sink, use a sponge will make cleaning quick and easy.

These sheets arrive in a thin flat envelope mailer and it makes you wonder if you got what you ordered at first. So you have some non-recurring work to do in order to get the water into these sheets. I used warm water in my kitchen sink and massaged and soaked and massaged and soaked them some more. Eventually, you can get all the cells to swell up to the point it seems they might burst. I thought I was going to have a few dead cells, but I kept working on them until they surrendered. Eventually, every cell swelled to capacity. I put them into the freezer and a couple of days later, I took them with me to the grocery store in the hot Houston heat. I put them into a foil insulated bag to keep my ice cream cold on the half hour trip home. When I got home, the ice cream was still rock hard just like it was in the store. And I couldn't tell the frozen cells had thawed at all. They still seemed rock hard after being out of the freezer for an hour and a half in very hot weather.

My original shipment was two sheets short of what I ordered. So I informed the supplier and within a few days, they fulfilled the order balance without any contest.

These arrive as sheets literally almost like a plastic coated sheet of paper. Slightly pricey but worth it. Better than the standard blue gel packs. You can cut them to whatever size you need make sure you dont cut to close an cut right in the middle of the divider. It stays frozen solid in a standard cooler for about 2 hours or so. Then it goes into a semi-solid state for another hour or so. Then it thaws out but still remains cold enough to be effective for about another hour or so. Basically it kept my drinks cold for about 4.5 hours before i started to notice a difference. The initial preparation is a slight hassle but nothing too bad. At first i thought will these things ever inflate then it did you sort of had to work them almost like dough but not as rough. I havent had them long enough to comment on there durability. Even though its frozen you can still work(bend)with them in the cooler. One slight negative they are kind of bulky with each cell taking up space of about one standard ice cube from a tray maybe a smidgen smaller. So they will take up some room in a cooler an you might have to get creative if you are using a small cooler. Other than that i have no problem as of yet with them but as mentioned earlier havent been using them long enough. One more thing they actually freeze up pretty fast about 2.5 hours in a chest freezer an ready to go. I gave it 4 stars because i wish they where just slight less bulky once frozen.

I found techni ice a few years back by accident at a local sporting goods store. Three years later, I went back to by more & they no longer sold it, so I tried the good ole blue packs & they didn't work worth a squat. Found these on-line & order up. This is one product that actually does what it says & that's keep things cold for up to 8 hours. It also can be used over & over....well worth the price, just in ice & time savings alone.

I ordered these after seeing them demonstrated a our local fair. I thought the fair price was very inflated so I ordered them here. The claim is that these ice packs will keep things cold for DAYS. I have used these in an insulated lunch bag when I pack a lunch for work and can't even say that they stay cold for HOURS. I bought a cheap rectangular ice pack at the dollar store that far outperforms this product. Other reviewers mentioned finding small pin holes in the ice packs, I also had this problem. I also found the packets hard to fill with water. The sheet has to lay almost completely flat before the water will seem in, and even then you have to knead the pack every so often to work the water in. I had high hopes for this product, very dissapointed. I read other poor reviews on this product and foolishly took a chance on it, don't repeat my mistake.

These so called "techni ice" packs aren't all that great at all. They don't stay cold longer than any other Ice pack. Actually they thaw quicker. That "built in refrigerant" is a complete joke. There's no refrigerant in those things! Its just some gel that constantly sweats out this slimy residue. Supposedly they "don't leak", not true... they leak. Yes the product was very inexpensive, but it is not superior to any other typical ice pack, actually its inferior. And they don't "stay cold for days"... maybe in a cooler that is never opened, but coolers get opened, they thaw.

i ordered these hoping they would work like a portable heating pad to use when i'm in the car or when I need one that does not plug in. (that was how item was described on another website) these do not work well for that. do not like need to soak in water before use and when i tried microwaving them 1 square got too hot and melted, making a gross smell and a mess. the other barely got warm. will go buy a normal microwavable heating pad instead.

might work better as cold packs.

I bought these to replace some ice packs that were lost. After following the instructions, and reading reviews here, I was able to get each pocket to fully fill. It did take some time. I recommend filling your sink with water, submerging the sheets while kneading them. Then walk away for a while and let them expand. After 10 minutes or so, knead again until all the pockets are full. I cut the sheets down to sandwich bag size, and zipped them in. There's absolutely no mess or leaking of gel. They're very easy to refreeze and use again.
The reason for only 3 stars is that they do not stay solid for very long. I still have some old packs similar to what was lost. When I used both recently, the old packs were still solid after 7 hours in my cooler, which was kept in my trunk in 50 degree weather. These packs were mushy at the end of the same time period.
