We're using in a church worship service, one for picking up spoken voice and one for picking up an acoustic guitar and variously also our children's choir.

Both microphones work excellently, have nice clear noise-free sound, pick up even children's voices quite nicely without having to overdrive the sound system, and appear to be fairly solidly built.

My only disappointment with them is the AT2020 side-address condenser - I thought that it work as a mic from either side, but it is unidirectional. There was nothing in the advertising telling me that it should work from both sides, it was just an assumption I made, which assumption comes from the fact that I know very little about microphones. Perhaps it's a known fact that "side-address" means one side only, I don't know.

I don't offer that as a complaint, only as a helpful guide in case someone else who doesn't know much about microphones is wondering how it works.

As I said, sound-quality-wise, these are both wonderful, and we're getting another set for the church.

The AT2020 and AT2021 condenser microphones included in this package are simply great quality. The microphones are very durable and aren't cheap like many microphones at this price level. They sound really clear and fresh, which is a relief upgrade from my old Logitech [ew] microphones.

The 2020 produces rich sounding vocals through my Roland AC60 Amplifier. I even took the mic to the bathroom to capture the natural re verb of other rooms and the results were excellent. I opted to spend the extra $40-50 on the small diaphragm condenser 2021. This was a good choice because it sounds absolutely awesome while miked up to my acoustic guitar.

True, there are much, much more high quality condenser microphones available on the market. But, ladies and gentlemen, for this price it isn't going to get much better! Best bang for the buck. 5/5!

I've been using these two mics in my home studio for a few years now and have had great results. Unless you're willing to spend upwards of $1,000.00 (i.e. AKG C414 XLS) I think you will be hard pressed to find a better bargain in a mic package. I utilize my AT2020 for recording vocals and acoustic guitar tracks, and find the AT2021 is great for amp cabinet recording. I run both of these through an Art Tube MP Tube Mic Preamp with 48V Phantom Power (another fantastic bargain--you can find them in the $30.00 to $40.00 range) and then into my recording console. After 3 years of studio use these mics seem no worse for the wear--if anything they may sound a little warmer. Happy recording!

What do you need for a home studio? You need a microphone that can clearly capture live vocals and acoustic instruments without cutting off important frequencies or adding too much of its own "tone." That's the AT2020. You need a pair of microphones to close-mic acoustic instruments and capture room ambience. Check and check - the AT2020 and AT2021, used together, accomplish exactly that. You need a directional condenser microphone to pair with a good dynamic microphone for getting a great amplified guitar sound. The AT2021 is precisely that condenser microphone.

Sounds are captured precisely and articulately. These microphones get the job done. For all your tracking applications at home, this package will cover your bases. If you're a singer-songwriter at home, this is the only mic package you will ever need to buy, in my opinion. If you plan on recording a full band, buy two of these AT2041 packages and two nice dynamic mics, and you should be able to produce professional-sounding recordings in any recording situation you may face.

Do you have a real, professional recording studio? If so, you may find that these mics lack a bit of definition at the low end of the spectrum. But I'm not a pro, so for all I know, it could be my ears or the room in which I record.

Bottom line: I did a lot of product reseearch before buying this package. There is a reason why it gets such strong reviews. These are great mics. For the home studio, it's nearly everything you need.

I purchased these mics based on reviews I read in a book and a couple of magazine reviews. I have a home recording studio and am building a decent mic locker. For this price you wouold be silly not to buy this package. They sound great and are as good as mics that cost $400 or $500 easily. AT makes highly respected gear and the AT 2020 is great for vocals and the AT2021 small diaphragm captures the nuance of acoustic instruments great. It catches the transients of an acoustic guitar, tambourines, shakers, etc. beautifully.

the AT2020 is great for voice, the 2021 for guitars, etc the combo price just makes the quality for price untouchable. I use the AT2021 for passivly recording groups in a room sometimes, the tiny size and solid construction makes it a take anywhere mike

These are darned nice mics. For about $1000 more per mic, you could start getting better mics, but not a whole lot better.

The Harmon Kardon product like, which includes Audio Technica, Has some awfully nice stuff at reasonable prices. From this family, I also have an HK 3490 amplifier which is also a superb piece of equipment. These guys make ADC, dbx, Infinity, JBL, Crown and others so I surmise that they know their way around audio.

I have been using these mics for about six months recording a grand piano and I am very impressed.

This package: Audio Technica AT2041 is a great way to get a quality sound. These two mics are just great. I was bit skeptical about the smaller mic (at2021) but was very much impressed; the kinda base that it gives to voice, if you, for example: narrating softly but want a good punch. Of course you need a pop filter for it and will have to be like 6 to 4 inches away. Where as AT2020 just makes the sound so beautiful with such good crispness which is not harsh:) I highly recommend it.

We're using these mics with a Focusrite 2i2 and the sound quality is quite good. For the price, it would be hard to beat.

We've recorded voice, saxophone, acoustic guitar and a whole band (with just 2 mics). All have sounded very good. The noise level is quite low and there isn't a noticeable hiss or hum.
