When I first listen to them I thought - oh my, they sound like a 30 dollar headphone at best. Next day, it was a different experience - the sound was much better but still nowhere close to what it should be for the price. I tried sony's hybrid tips and the sound became really dark and "full of base"( if you can call it that from a single armature driver) and "base" was way intrusive, leaching into mids. What i have learned is the sound signature changes on these dramatically based on the tips used and how far down the stem tips are pushed. I had to be making an effort as to how I put them in my ears. This big fluctuation in the sound was a first to me, and I have some experience with headphones, but never had a complete sound signature change this dramatically. In the end, I chose to stay with original tips and sound is very easy listening, no harsh highs and booming lows - I do miss nice highs. Mids are good.
These headphones are fast and detailed, but I will probably use them for bicycle rides.
