Based on the hype from forums, I had anticipated a sound signature as described by members as having good bottom end with effortless highs and a midrange to die for. Well, partially, this is true but it left me wanting much in terms of body and warmth. Using Flac files and NFB-11.32 as the decoder/amp driver, imho, it can use more fuller bottom end. Bass notes are tight but still lacking as compared to even a modest Sennheiser HD580. However, the highs are effortless almost to the point of siblance in non-ideal recordings. Imaging is intimate as compared to AD900X. I thought of this as an upgrade but I do not share the same opinion as some members of forums. So if this can have more lower midrange and fuller bottom end, it would have been great. Although I don't valve amplification which might help in the region of it's deficiency imho, I am planning on trying this out soon hopefully with a Schitt Lyr.
But as is with solid state, it really leaves alot to desire.

Vocals on this headset are amazing. It is what all the expert reviewers say it is. Did not disappoint.

Vocals are crystal clear. I also own the Audio Technica ATH W5000 wich of course have a wider sound range but are a little bit heavier. ATH 1000X are great too and I recommend them when you travel because they are very light.
