Product Description

Amazon.com

Specifically designed for digital music with wide program dynamics, Audio-Technica's mid-size ATH-M2X headphones are perfect for use with home and project studios and portable digital-audio devices like CD, minidisc, and MP3 players. The headphones use an open-back design that lets its large, 40 mm drivers "breathe" better than closed-back designs, eliminating unwanted low-frequency resonances that often color the sound from closed-ear headphones. While this helps the sound quality, be aware that it also makes them a little noisier for those around you--and permits noise from without to be audible through the headphones.

The high-performance drivers use efficient, low-mass diaphragms that are easily driven by most headphone jacks. An 11.5-foot cable grants extended movement from and around your audio source, and the .125-inch-terminated cable comes with a .25-inch adapter plug for use with home audio components.

What's in the Box
Headphones, adapter plug, and a data sheet.

The sound quality is just excellent and it is very mobile and comfortable.

It is totally impractical, although some people may be looking for an extra long cord.

The earmuffs are extremely comfortable, but they do make your ears a little hot.

I recieved these headphones as a gift back 3 years ago for my 18th birthday. They've lasted all this time and still sound great, they have superb quality when used with my dell dj, cd player, everything. One of the ear pieces comes loose but that is due to my rought treatment not defective merchandise. I highly recommend these as they are an exceptional piece of equipment for the price.

I got these headphones because my friend recommended me them. For 16.99, they are probably the best pair of headphones you can get. The sound quality is just excellent and it is very mobile and comfortable.

PROS:

- Excellent sound quality for under $20

* Good bass, a good amount, though not too much

* Crisp, clear sound

- Comfortable fit even for a big head like mine

- Long Cord, if youre at home, it's a benefit

- Lightweight

- Flexible

CONS:

- Need to position correctly in order to exprience full quality

- Long Cord, if you're outside it's a disadvantage (but just rubber band part of the cord to shorter it)

- Cheap PlasticNot made of the best material

Clearly the pros outweigh the cons (some of which are negligible)

So get it!

I bought this headphones 1 year ago and still they are like new. there are several things I want to mention:

1. Size: if you like headphones that have form factor like this, you will be very happy. size is very good, it's not heavy, it sits fine on the head & covers years firmly
2. Build Quality: quality is fantastic! It's very solid, it's made from quality plastic, parts are assembled well. Overall it's very solid & strong headphones
3. Sound Quality: for this price, it's much more better than other headphones in same price range. Low, Mid & High frequencies sound very clear & over time sound quality stays the same.

Also I'm very happy with its very wire, which you can get anywhere.

Overall you will be very happy with this headphone, in this price range.

I did a side by side comparison with my M2X headphones, which cost me under $25, with my friend's $300 Bose QC2s and here's how it played out: For details and the "inside the head experience," the headphones were equal. The Bose only beat my M2X in bass, and I don't care about heavy bass anyway.

For comfort, both are light weight. The Bose covers your ears more fully, but we're cutting hairs here.

I use my M2X for taking naps and the smaller size is good. One advantage of the M2X over the more expensive Bose: The Bose are flimsy. The head strap seems like it's easy to break. The far lesser costing M2Xs seem more rugged.

At this price point the M2X come highly recommended.

To be honest, the sound from these cans do not compare to my Sennheiser PX100's. They sound bass heavy and lack the clarity and detail of the PX100's. But to be fair, they cost half of the PX100's and are reasonably good for the price. They seem ruggedly built and are fairly comfortable. They also come with a nice long cord and a 1/4" stereo adapter. Definitely not for audiophiles but what do you want for under $20.

Excellent headphones. As mentioned before, the sound is slightly muffled, especially compared to my sony mdr-j10's, but overall, the sound quality is superb. the bass isnt crazy, but it isnt weak either. i would give it 4 stars because of the insanely long 11-foot cord, but i knew what i was buying before i bought it, so no worries there. and plus, now i can roll away from my desk and not worry about getting whiplash!

What i like most about these is that they arent too tight on my head. they're snug, but not so loose as to fall off if i lean down. my ears get a little warm, but not nearly as much as some other over-the-ear headphones ive used.

The value was too good to pass up, so i got a pair for my lil bro too. if these things last more than a year [given the previous reviews, it sounds like they will], they will be more than worth the 20 bucks they cost. as of now, i am more than satisfied.

if youre looking to jam to music with some panache, dont get these, theyre pretty ordinary looking headphones. just the way i like it though: very plain looking, but highly functional.

I just received my headphone today and I'm trying it out right this moment. For $25, this is not bad in the price department. Ok, the sound is really good - right amount of bass in my opinion. The fit: it feels a little weird (it somehow hugs my right ear better than my left ear), but it's adjustable so maybe I'll get used to the feel eventually. External noise: well I didn't hear my mom talking to me when she was about 8 feet behind me, but I heard her sneeze down the hallway (then again she sneezes really loud =) Comfort: the band has a leathery covering, and the earpads also feel really soft. There's a light airy feel to this thing..love it! Overall, I feel like this is a 4-star product just because of the odd fitting. Hopefully, this thing will last me for years like the other reviewer said! If this is durable, I guess it'd be a 4.5-star product.
