Excellent choice for the serious TA student!,

This review is from: Technical Analysis Explained: The Successful Investor's Guide to Spotting Investment Trends and Turning Points (Hardcover)
I found the book (Technical Analysis Explained) to be extremely helpful in my study of this fascinating subject. I can understand why Technical Analysis Explained is one of two books on the recommended reading list for the Certified Market Technicians Course. Pring has the knack of making what could be a dull subject interesting. This is the kind of detailed background needed to properly watch both the market and specific stocks. The charting techniques presented give the investor and trader far greater insight into future probable price trends and will significantly increase their rate of return.

Glad I Bought It!,

I was first attracted to this book at my local library, so I checked it out. I had intended on merely reading selected chapters and taking some notes. However, as I got into the book, I realized there was much more meat here. There MUST be a copy on my personal bookshelf. I quickly purchased the book here at Amazon.com (I love this place!). With my highlighter in hand and notepad, I started devouring this book. Pring's work reminds me of a college textbook in its thorough approach to technical analysis of the stock market. I have just gotten interested in the stock market, and I need this kind of detailed background so I can properly watch both the market and specific stocks. The charting techniques he explains will give the investor far greater insight into the future probable price trends. This will significantly increase their rates of return. If someone knows a better book on technical analysis of stocks please e-mail me about it. (However, do NOT send me any junk e-mail advertisements.) I highly recommend this book to any investor desiring to get into the details of using charts to predict stock and market price movements. Van White

Hugely overrated,

This book is a dud. I don't understand how it has gained such a hyped-up reputation. I use technical analysis in managing a small hedge fund and have found dozens of books on technical analysis that are more useful than this one. This book will bore you into a coma with its fuzzy, unfocused babbling and surprising lack of insight. The bible of technical analysis continues to be John Murphy's "Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets."
