4.0 out of 5 stars Technical Analysis Simplified worth every penny
I found Technical Analysis Simplified to be an apt description of what Droke explains in this book-an extremely simple, easy to read way to forecast from stock market charts. This book is great in that it can be read in one or two sittings and is a helpful reference manual for looking up chart patterns that occur over and over in the market. Droke does in a little...

1.0 out of 5 stars Better Title Would Be: Technical Analysis Unsimplified
There is a reason this book is out of print. Just getting through the first chapter was painful. The book reads like a high school term paper. I couldn't bring myself to read anymore. I ended up taking it back and getting a refund. The most useful part of this book was the suggested reading in the back, which I used to purchase "Technical Analysis of Financial...

Droke does in a little over 100 pages what Edward & Magee took over 500 pages to do. The reader who trashed this book apparently doesn't know how to read, because the introduction to Droke's book is less than six pages long. Murphy's book is also good, but is too long and much more complex. (BTW, this book is NOT out of print, as the reviewer below claimed because I got it in a couple of days from Amazon).

5.0 out of 5 stars The book was very helpful., March 10, 1999

I have only recently become interested in financial markets and happened to come across this book.  Being a novice in this field, I found it extremely helpful.  The introductory history was quite interesting.  The explanation of the different patterns was very beneficial.  I now feel more confident in my ability to analyze and forecast price trends, thereby enabling me to make the proper choices.

There is a reason this book is out of print. Just getting through the first chapter was painful. The book reads like a high school term paper. I couldn't bring myself to read anymore. I ended up taking it back and getting a refund. The most useful part of this book was the suggested reading in the back, which I used to purchase "Technical Analysis of Financial Markets" by John J. Murphy instead. All I can say is this one is a keeper. It's easy to read and eventhough it was twice as much, it is well worth it.
