Technical glasses are defined here as glasses intended for technical use in laboratories, industrial plants, electrical engineering and the health service. In contrast to container glasses or glasses for the building industry, they are characterized by extensive standardization of their technical parameters. Additionally they have the feature of being mostly mass-produced commercially.
