I bought this recorder to place inside of a homemade plush toy because of its size and the convenience of being able to record what I wanted for the toy. It works the way it was intended. The switch in the middle changes between play and record and the red button on the side pretty much acts as an activator; it is very simple to use. The recordings are clear on playback.

My use of these devices was a bit unique in that there were battle sounds recorded on them for replay during training. The sound reproduction was excellent but I could have used a bit more volume for my purposes. To the everyday person, this would be an excellent device for recording short messages.
