This review is from: Technique and Form of the Three Sectional Staff in Kung Fu (Literary links to the Orient) (Paperback)
A good starter, but not (stress on NOT) for the beginner! This weapon is deadly it can and WILL cause the user and nearby casual observers severe injury! I reccomend mastering the nunchaku first, then the bo then try this weapon. The techniques are difficult, the images confusing, and sometimes to dark to see. The descriptions of the manuevers are too brief to be of use and when combined with the confusing photo plates makes mastering these moves more difficult to learn. There aren't many books on this weapon, and this one being out of print on top of that, makes it an essential buy if you want to learn this weapon, good luck....
