Format from hell,

This review is from: 40 Techniques For Card Making (Spiral-bound)
The good news: the projects are okay. I imagine the content would be better for someone new to paper crafts. It covers stamping, embossing, aging, etc. For that I gave it 2 stars.
The bad news: the format makes browsing and reading the book cumbersome at best. It's spiral bound with pages that flip up and over the top. The cover creates a stand so the book (supposedly) stands upright. It didn't for me. Constantly turning the bulky book over to read the next page made me want to throw it across the room.

Great Ideas,

This book has well written instructions for a lot of great techniques. The only complaint I have is the binding. The stand-up format might be marginally helpful while completing a project, but it makes for very awkward reading.

Great resource!,

This review is from: 40 Techniques For Card Making (Spiral-bound)
This is a great resource for different techniques used in making cards and scrapbook pages. The step-by-step instructions are accompanied by clear full-color photos and there are several sample projects that you can make with each technique.
The format is clear and easy to follow - the instructional pages are followed by the sample projects with complete directions on how to make each one. Experienced crafters may want to vary the projects, but the steps for making each are clearly outlined for beginners. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I love the format! After checking out some of the techniques and projects, I promptly opened the easel flap to make the book stand on my desk, where it can inspire me. No problems at all with the construction of my book, the easel works fine and the book stands steady. Large tabs along the bottoms of the pages provide a speedy way to find another techinque. It's great to have so many techniques included in one place. There is a CD with additional techniques that I haven't watched yet.
