1987 Altogether this is a very commendable book in which the author has undoubtedly achieved his objective, and it should be available in every chemistry department. It can be most warmly recommended for anyone wishing to acquire a deeper knowledge of modern NMR spectroscopy, whether as an introduction to practical use of techniques, or as preparatory reading before a study based on more theoretical oriented monographs. It seems especially suitable to use in research groups which have a considerable turnover of people, for providing newcomers with a minimum of NMR knowledge. The paperback is reasonably priced, and should be within the means even of students. --
Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Engl.1987 This book is written in an engaging, relaxed style, very appropriate for the intended audience, advanced students, beginning researchers and older ones whose NMR education stopped with continuous-wave NMR. --
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyApril 1988 ...will prove valuable to students and staff, as an alternative source to other more introductory texts. I appreciate the easy-going writing and style and the very detailed discussions on selected topics, particularly on the practical side...a valuable effort which I am happy to recommend to undergraduates and postgraduates. --
DR A J Hannaford Thames PolytechnicApril 1988 A welcome text! The author has identified a major gap in text provision. --
Dr R W MatthewsJanuary/February 1988 ...written in a clear and conversational language... The book is an excellent teaching text and will be of particular value to graduate-level students and those organic and inorganic chemists who use NMR routinely for the analysis of structural and mechanistic problems. --
Chemistry in AustraliaJune 1987 ...This book should be in the hands of all chemistry staff and research students and available in libraries for the use of undergraduates. --
Chemistry and IndustryJune 1988 an excellent introduction to this important area...overall the best in its field. --
Dr G A Morris University of ManchesterSeptember 1987 ...Derome's book can be highly recommended to anyone interested in NMR... --
Chemistry in BritainSeptember 1987 ...There are a wealth of helpful hints to be found throughout the book...useful to anyone wanting to know how to use modern NMR techniques to solve chemical problems. --
Paul D Lickiss, School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, University of Sussex, Journal of Organometallic ChemistrySeptember 1987 Altogether, Derome's book can be highly recommended to anyone interested in NMR. --
