How does it work?
Once you receive the package you are instructed to go to their website, setup a free account, and download the Printies application onto you computer. The application is what does the magic. Your child basically uses the software to create a new PET, print it out on a test sheet (included) and then ultimately print it out on the fabric stencils that are included. Once printed you stuff the fabric stencils with the stuffing material included and attach the entire body to a plastic pair of feet...voila your Printies is created.
What is included?
* Printies fabric sheets
* Stuffing and stuffing tool
* 6 Shoes
* 10 Test sheets and sticker sheets
* Your online passcode
You are able to purchase additional supplies as required through their site, but I would recommend returning to Amazon and purchasing them here...comparison shopping will definitely fit the bill here since these child attractions are out of control as of late. :)
Overall a great product for a fun time.....
we found the design app to be a little glitchy, but very useable.
our complaints came when it was time to print. the program forces you to print "test sheets" which i guess are designed to help make sure you've got the paper in there the proper way. ie some printer print face up, others face down, i just feel there is a way to help people figure that out with out wasting all that ink. as it is the program asks you to print each side of the stuffed animal twice. if you're quick you can get our of the last one. another waste is that if your child has chosen certain designs the program prints it out with half the page,well outside the printie's outline, covered in that color of ink. we didnt have problems getting it through the printer, but we have a HP office printer which might be why.
once you get it printed and tear it out i found the printies themselves to be surprising durable. my little girl was jabbing the suffing down there pretty hard, i really expected it to rip but it held up.
another complete and total waste are the shoes. we have yet to have any luck getting a printie securely in the shoes. half of them wont go and the other half just sort of flop over and anytime the kid tries to play with them the shoes fall off anyway. instead i simply tucked the white tab inside the printie and sealed it shut with three little dots of super glue. took ten seconds and was a lot more useful and less aggrivating that jacking with those shoes for a half hour only to have to do it all over again when they fell off.
when you get past all this however, my daughter LOVES them.
Sometimes toys such as this are really cool in their concept, but they fall short in quality or actually being able to create the items as shown on the commercials, but this one totally lives up to the hype. It's a fun craft where my daughter can be creative, but it's not messy and she really doesn't need much assistance from me. But it's also a fun project to do together. Also, I love how you have the ability to create your pets and save them for later if you don't happen to be near a printer. Very cool item!

The toy is fun for my 8 year old. She played with her friend and they each made a pillow. Could get costly if they kept making them as we would need to buy more.Published on January 9, 2013 by Joe Adamec
Very difficult to print, but kids love them, won't buy them again though, too much fiddling around for parents, probably won't be a long term toy as they just sit on some plastic... Read morePublished on December 26, 2011 by Karen
