5.0 out of 5 stars The wizardry of technology!, June 23, 1999
This review is from: Technology-Based Learning: Maximizing Human Performance and Corporate Success (Hardcover)
Hats off gentlemen! This book is an aggressive approach on technology as a system to support our work (work = activity) in learning. The introduction of current technology to facilitate business (Rex/PAN) is refreshing and exciting. It discusses paradigm shifts, management tools, and describes the challenge of traditional training and education industry entities to create a mentofactured workforce. Bravo!

4.0 out of 5 stars A strategic coverage of electronic performance tools, October 9, 1998
This review is from: Technology-Based Learning: Maximizing Human Performance and Corporate Success (Hardcover)
It is difficult to find a book as comprehensive as this one, covering both strategic and tactical views of the topic. Michael Marquardt and Greg Kearsley have done an excellent job of showing the multiple options available in electronic performance support and how these options can contribute to organizational learning and sustained performance. They have included the latest technologies in video, audio, computer and network areas, and have demonstrated the potential each form of technology has for the support of organizational learning. For example, they include electronic publishing and data mining, both of which capabilities have great potential for organizational effectiveness.

The technologies have been explained in such a way that they are easily accessible to managers and practitioners. The book will provide the reader with information and applications which can easily be transferred into any organizational setting. It is an excellent addition to both general management and performance consulting libraries.
