This book is a confused compendium of short essays from almost 200 contributors. Although some of the contriubtutions may be helpful, there is no central theme and the contributions are not blended well. Also, the level of knowledge required from the reader is not consistent, as difficulty levels vary among contributions. Many of the contriubutions are obsolete and rely on literature or sources way too old for a technology handbook.

Thanks to the size of the book, it looks nice in a library and it can also be used as a doorholder or flowerpress. To get grounded in technology management issues, it is not a good choice.

I've tried to use this book during my University studies - and it was so useless! This book seems to be only a huge collection of articles without any link between them. Many articles don't have any relation to Innovation or Management, I had the impression that they are only integrated to make the book heavier - and my family found out the same use as the other reader from Germany: My children are using it to press plants and my wife claimed already to use it as a doorholder for our old entrance later.

This handbook outlines information on management science (or art) and practice to all aspects of the production and operation of technology related components and systems.

The articles included in this book cover traditional areas of engineering management, including:

- Marketing.
- Personal issues and Human resources.
- International business.

The book is written from the technical manager perspective, so it should be of interest to individuals working in such role. I am mostly a technologist, and I bough the book as a reference and introduction to topics related to management.
