Product Description

The Camera Split Strap is a direct replacement for camera straps. The ends are fully adjustable in length and complements the Custom SLR C-Loop and works with traditional camera strap mounting points. Comes with 2 pair of adjustable length ends. About Split Strap Technology - After studying how straps interact with the structures of the shoulder, neck, and back, we discovered that the planar/flat profiled nature of existing straps did not contour to the body well causing unequal weight/force distribution, discomfort and possible strain. Our breakthrough design utilizes a split in the strap which creates multiple points where the strap could sit and conform to the body; thus, distributing the weight evenly and increasing comfort. The split also promotes cooling by venting heat away. On the backside of the strap, we integrated sticky silicone printed logos that reduce annoying slippage. The rotating quick release buckle reduces strap tension by pivoting with the movements of the user, which decreases chaffing and increases slack to facilitate further flexibility and comfort.

Customer Reviews

You can use this as a regular neck strap or over the shoulder, it's equally comfortable. banthehyphen  |  2 reviewers made a similar statement

3.0 out of 5 stars not for me August 21, 2011

i wanted a new strap and when i searched i found the split strap. a fairly new product, i was a bit hesitant in ordering it without seeing that many reviews. i previously had the reflex e strap by kata which i found very comfortable, but i didnt like the detachable clips because i found it a couple of times undone. Anyway, i decided to order it. It looked comfortable enough on the videos they provided and i didnt see any negative reviews. I was very excited when it arrived. The buckles look strong enough to carry the weight of my set up and wouldn't unbuckle by accident. the only thing i didnt like is that its not comfortable when you carry the camera around your neck vs on your shoulder like a sling. when i compared the length of the pad on this strap vs my kata strap i noticed that its not as long, so it hugs your neck in an uncomfortable way. I'm going to keep using it for a couple more outtings, (maybe my neck will get used to it) but im most likely going back to my previous neck strap. i think this is a good product for people who carry their cameras on their shoulder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hardly notice the extra weight when I upgraded my dslr August 20, 2011

When I was upgrading my dslr from the Canon EOS 1000D (Rebel XS), which is one of the lightest dslrs around, to the 60D, I started looking around for an alternative camera strap that would be comfortable. I didn't like the idea of dangling it from the tripod mount, the way the Black Rapid strap does (also $60 for a strap is ridiculous!). I came across this product on kickstarter, they had just launched the straps on Amazon, so there were no reviews, but it seemed to be promising. I decided to take the plunge.

The verdict: This is a fantastic strap, and I recommend it highly to anyone who prefers to not use one of the fancy tripod mount straps. It's easy to put together and comes with an extra set of straps (which I really appreciate - good value!). My 60D+Sigma 17-50 feels lighter than my 1000D+18-55 thanks to the great design and materials. You can use this as a regular neck strap or over the shoulder, it's equally comfortable.

Buy it, you won't regret it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Flawed Design June 5, 2012

Pros:
- Distributes weight well, heavy equipment feels lighter.
- Well constructed.

Cons:
- If you are carrying camera over the shoulder, after taking a picture you always have to readjust the split shoulder pads from twisting/overlapping onto one another. Flawed design.
- Quick release buckles are too tight, they feel secure but can't really do 'quick-release'. Position of the swiveling pivot is too high to be functional, it doesn't really rotate since it is so tight, not to mention the buckle digs into the chest.
- If you are carrying camera over the neck, the split shoulder pad edges will overlap and dig into neck at an angle. I now appreciate unibody shoulder pad design more than ever.
