I have one of these units it has saved our RV several times, we were in a membership only campground and their bad pedestal knocked out our system, luckily it reset it's self. Since we bought this unit we had had no problems.

This surge guard has tripped a couple times, which makes me think it works. However, all I can really say for sure, is that it supplies power to my RV. It doesn't seem to test for ground, as it worked like there was no problem, even though the ground wire wasn't connected to ANYTHING when I first hooked up. It has rained fairly significantly, and I haven't had any problems with it. I believe that all of these RV surge protectors are pretty much the same. I just bought this one, because of bad reviews of the other low dollar one on Amazon, and this one has cord on both ends, making it easy to fit into pretty much any plug, regardless of position.

Was staying at the SEC Baseball tournament in Hoover, AL at the stadium campground recently and it tripped. The park maintenance people had to fix the pedistal post I was plugged into. Who knows what might have happened without it.

It takes away the bending of the orginal electrical cord, because some parks have their electrial plug-ins upside down. It is made of very heavy construction and quality.

I will not leave home without it.

Good luck.

I have a travel trailer on a lake lot that I go to most weekends. After reading stories about odd voltages ruining electronics and motors I bought this. So far it has not been tested as to how well it detects bad currents. My rating is based on the fact that the entire unit is solid and well designed. The top has a fold down T handle to make it easier to remove from the outlet. The bottom outlet is rotated 180 degrees from the top plug. This makes it easy to plug my TT into the outlet.

We camp 3 times each year and started having power surge problems at one of the campground's. My husband told me he wanted one of these. The camper store wanted 3 times the money for this item. It works wonderful and is worth the $100 I paid for it.

Works great! It has tripped a few times before my main breaker would trip which lets me know I am using too much power! My bust! I haven't noticed any power spikes at my locations so I can only assume it works as intended if any spikes were to happen.
