4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bluetooth for iPod
I use this with a 30gb video ipod, and the S9 by Motorolla. The sound is much better then expected. It does cut out when in very busy places, like the train station, also there is no case in existance that will hold this with the adapter on it.

The built in stand is pretty sweet for desktop use.

The biggest issue is that the directions don't tell...

3.0 out of 5 stars NAVIPLAY BLUETOOTH STEREO TRANSMITTER
When it works it works well. Battery seems to die after approximately 6-8 months of use. Pairs well with most devices. Battery lidfe/durability is the big issue.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bluetooth for iPod, September 4, 2007
This review is from: TEN Technology naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Adapter for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I use this with a 30gb video ipod, and the S9 by Motorolla. The sound is much better then expected. It does cut out when in very busy places, like the train station, also there is no case in existance that will hold this with the adapter on it.

The built in stand is pretty sweet for desktop use.

The biggest issue is that the directions don't tell you how to actually pair this item with a headset. I will tell you here...

Press and hold the power button of the Adapter for at least 8 seconds (may take up to 15 seconds) continuously. While you are holding the power button down the LED indicator will first flash green only (start up mode), then flash green and amber alternating slowly (successful startup), and finally change to a rapid alternating green and amber: the Adapter is now in Pairing Mode. When you see the LED switch to Pairing Mode, the power button can be released and the unit should stay in Pairing Mode with the LED continuing to quickly flash alternating green and amber (the flashing cycle time should be less than a second). The Adapter will stay in this mode waiting for you to put the Headset into pairing mode as well for about 3 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the better bluetooth adapters for iPod and works with the iPhone..., July 16, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TEN Technology naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Adapter for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
There's a few ways to get your iPod to have bluetooth support for wireless stereo headsets but this is one of the better ones. While not perfect, the naviPlay does the job, has a long battery life, is easy to set up and pair, and most importantly, works with the iPhone (mostly).

Here's the scoop...

PROS:

- Paired effortlessly with all the headsets I tried
- Robust support for A2DP Bluetooth profile (volume and song advancement controls work)
- Battery life is approximately 10 hours a charge, very nice!
- Charges off USB using the iPod's dock cable
- Doubles as an iPod dock
- Has a very useful on-demand stand to hold the iPod/iPhone at an angle

CONS:

- Made of flimsy feeling plastic
- Recessed button to pair/turn on/off is hard to reach and press
- Stand props will wear out soon
- Works with iPhone just fine but iPhone will warn you every time that it's not made for it

While the iPhone supports mono phone headsets in Bluetooth, real stereo headsets (A2DP) don't work yet. While none of the available options are perfect, this is the best way to go currently.

Final Note: TenTechnology, the maker of naviPlay, has apparently gone out of business. Buyer beware.

The adapter works as described with the Motorola stereo Bluetooth headphones. My headphones were defective, however -- no left channel -- but it took a while to determine this because the three components (iPod, adapter, phones) are all made by different manufacturers and have to be individually trouble-shooted. The line-of-site range is at least 30 feet, as documented. The pairing set-up is problematic, however, unless you go to the TEN Technology website and read the less confusing instructions there. Also make sure ALL other Bluetooth devices are off during pairing with the headphones -- including your Bluetooth cell phone (which you pair separately) and Bluetooth computer.

An outstanding product. This product allows you to control your iPod when used in conjunction with the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Headphones.

I have been using this product in the gym for a couple of weeks and couldn't be happier. I don't need to stop my workout if I don't want to listen to a particular song...I just hit the button on my headphone and there you go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!, April 15, 2009
This review is from: TEN Technology naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Adapter for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
It has a built in battery to not affect our ipod's battery... A little confusing on how to pair (see most popular review) but after that it works well, and very nicely! I'd recommend to anyone using the s9 headphones with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works ... Great Value!, February 19, 2009

I use this with my 160GB iPod Classic along with my Motorola HT820 stereo bluetooth headset. The combination works perfectly. I love being able to use the next/prior buttons on the headset to more between tracks on the iPod. Very infrequently I get a small break in the music (less than a second). I don't know if this issue id the TEN Technologies adapter, the Motorola headset, or just bluetooth in general; not a big issue. One of the provided clips is a very close fit to the iPod classic even though it wasn't designed for it. I've tested the range on the adapter by walking away from it (through the house). Depending on walls etc., it's range is at least 30 feet and sometimes as much as 40 feet or so. Highly recommended for the price.

For the price that this is, it works great. It has an extremely long battery life from what i can see, and is simple to set up with my blue tooth receiver.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome deal for under $10, January 17, 2009
This review is from: TEN Technology naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Adapter for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Firstly anyone who plans on buying it should know that the company which makes this is going out of business. When this product was introduces in the CES exhibition a couple years back it was one of a kind and hailed as a brilliant product and cost around $80.
As to which IPOD's it works with I have used it successfully with my new Nano 8gb and the 8gb touch without any problems. The pairing is pretty easy and the manual is quite adequate just make sure you press the button for a few more seconds than what they say in the manual.
Pros:
-Supports play, pause, next and prev functions from your wireless headset
-Good finish and build quality
-Works flawlessly with my Southwing SA505 stereo headset
-Decent battery life
-Can be used as a docking station to charge your ipod.
-It has a bunch of clips to hold ipods of any size in place.
-The cheapest bluetooth transmitter I found
Cons:
-A little chunky(base is about 1"X1"X2.5") but I have not come across a smaller bluetooth transmitter
-Only works with ipods and maybe(iphones) the connector is not a generic one but I guess that is the nature of the beast a generic plug will not let you control the music player from your headset

All in all it is an amazing deal for less than $10. I have had no problems with the streaming or sound quality.

This adapter works great with the 2nd-gen iPod Touch (it even charges the Touch, which is really fussy about what it will and won't charge from), except that it doesn't come with a clip that fits. However, the Iphone Case & Iphone 3g Case Genuine Leather has a wrap-around leather flap that holds the Touch very snugly in place on the naviPlay.

The naviPlay works well with my Motorola S805 Bluetooth D.J. Style Stereo Headset. The range is maybe 30 feet, far enough to wander around my apartment, both up and downstairs.

My biggest issues with the naviPlay are that it is pretty bulky (way too large to carry around in a pocket), and that the single button is too small and recessed to push easily, which makes turning it on and off a pain (especially since you need to hold the button in for several seconds to turn the naviPlay off).

It was a little tricky to pair the first time, but the big trick seemed to be just holding the power button in for a loooong time, and then after that it took another loooong time to actually complete the pairing. Once that was done, it just worked.

The play/pause/prev/next controls on the S805 cause the naviPlay / Touch to switch to iTunes, so they don't work with Pandora or next.FM.

Overall, for the price, this is a great buy.
