Product Description
Explore the therapeutic meaning of your dreams and dream-like experiences.

This is NOT a dream dictionary. Dream images mean different things to different people. Through an interactive process similar to working with a therapist or counselor, DREAM-e will guide you to find out the therapeutic meaning of these images for you.

The technology is highly sophisticated - despite the simple appearance - and it works with your creative mind. This could be a challenge because it involves using different parts of the brain than the ones used in day to day life.
Just like learning to ride a bicycle, you will have to practice and probably fall a few times.
Please read the help and watch the videos, this will dramatically improve your chances of success. http://www.technosophics.com/dream-e.html

There is also a free version, so you can try before you buy.

I find dreams interesting and think that sometimes they do mean sometime although sometimes a dream is just a dream. But with an open mind I entered the following fictitious dream:

"I find myself alone in a room without furniture, the walls are all painted red. There is no door to get out. I feel a cold breeze. I turn around and see that there is a window open. I want to close it but when I get close I see it is covered with spiders. I scream. Suddenly it starts to rain outside and I hear thunder. Drops of rain start to fall on me. I look up and see there is no roof above me. The room becomes very dark and something seems to be moving in the room. I see a dark shadow. If calls to me by name but I don't understand what it is saying. I don't feel afraid. There is a sudden blast of icey air in my face. The entity howls two words GET OUT. I wake up all sweaty in my own bed."

It tries to analyze the dream by having you pick something unusual or mysterious, a character that is not you doing something or an image of an object, a person, an atmosphere or an environment that is quite unusual to start with. I initially picked "red walls".
(Feel free to skip down to my conclusion as my logging of the questions I was asked is pretty long.)

?Did you feel ok looking a 'red wall'? My answer: No
?How did you feel? My answer: afraid (now it wants to break the 2 words apart)
?Please enter only the subject of your image My answer: walls
?What do you imagine walls could be a symbol for? My answer: being trapped
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of 'being trapped'? My answer: prisoner
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of prisoner? My answer: powerless
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of powerless? My answer: No
?Is powerless somehow a negative thing? My answer: Yes
?What is the essence (the neutral, judgement-free quality or energy) of powerless? My answer: other people make the decisions
?Can you think of a deeper quality of energy of other people making the decisions? My answer: free to do what i want
?Can you think of a deeper quality of energy of free to do what i want? My answer: no
?Is free to do what i want somehow a negative thing? My answer: No
?Are there any unusual attributes of the walls? My answer: red
?What do you imagine red could be a symbol for? My answer: blood
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of blood? My answer: someone was murdered
?What is for you the essence (the neutral, judgement-free quality or energy) of blood? My answer: keeps me alive
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of keeps me alive? My answer: i am still alive
?What is for you the essence (the neutral, judgement-free quality or energy) of keeps you alive? My answer: i am not dead
?Can you think of a deeper quality or energy of i am not dead? My Answer: No
?Would you say that free to do what you want with the attribute of i am not dead is characteristic of you? My answer: No
?Would you like to choose a color that matches the energy of this essence? My answer: from a color chart picked a deep red
?What would you like to do now? My answer: Unlock the message of the dream

Message: "The energy of free to do what i want with the attribute of i am not dead is becoming accessible to you. Think of ways to manifest this new quality in a positive way in your life. At first you may feel afraid about this, but only because it is something new for you."

?Think of a part of the world where this new theme is well represented, and imagine taking a trip there. My answer: OK
?What would you like to do now? My answer: Exit

I am then given the opportunity to share the "Message" via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook.

CONCLUSION:
I found the repetitive nature of the questions tedious. It seemed somewhat biased in that it pushed me toward "judgement free" answers so that it could put a positive spin on things. The app never really interpreted the entire dream. I exited the analysis, but I could have continued and let in try to integrate the "message" with other aspects of my dream. I image that it would take most of the day or longer to pick out all the other things in my dream like the cold room, the spiders on the window, the room without a roof, the entity in the corner, the howled GET OUT words and get them integrated into the interpretation.

If you're interested in dreams and dream interpretation I think it's nice that it lets you record and save your dreams with a unique name for each dream. I know people do keep dream journals. There are no quick answers here though. If you have a lot of time to play around with this app you can probably get some insights about yourself out of it. Judge for yourself from the run through I gave of the typical questions it asks to determine if this is the kind of app you like. Decide for yourself if my initial entry of "red walls" would logically lead to the "Message" I received as an interpretation.

--Some of the writing explaining how to answer the questions was in pretty small type even on a Fire tablet and there was just too much verbiage involved in the questioning process. If you answer a question and decide you should have answered it differently you can't go back and change it. You must start at the very beginning of the dream interpretation process.

Comment: If you mark my review as not being helpful please have the courtesy of leaving a comment to tell me why. I'd really like to know. I took a lot of time to lay out the question and answer process in the hopes that it would be helpful to some people in deciding if they want this app.

UPDATE: What an interesting night. As soon as the new free app was posted, 3 people started marking all the 5-star reviews as helpful and all the 1-star reviews as unhelpful.

1.0 out of 5 stars I mean, really? October 2, 2012
By f3rm1n
This is just an app "for entertainment". The circular questioning is just to draw a so called interpretation from pre-made statements.
There are some facts about dreams that just simply negates the usefulness of a catch-all interpretation app:

-A dream usually has two ways of interpretation: a general one where the dream is a symbolic story and an individual meaning, which only the dreamer can interpret (some times with the help of a REAL therapist)
-The most common emotion experienced in a dream is anxiety and fear
-The dreams 99% of the time reflect events of your day providing an outlet to express repressed emotions
-Up to 70% of females and 65% of males experience recurrent dreams
-Dreams can reflect actual sensorial experiences, i.e. when a dog barks in the neighborhood, you might hear this in the dream
-A study showed that 42% of people felt they had had a dream about something that later came true

In any case, if this app can "Get a real-time PROFILE of your subconscious potential", then damn! I should not have spent more than $1.99 with my therapist

1.0 out of 5 stars bogus and suspect October 2, 2012
Hmm... A bogus app that's touted by the finest shill reviews, asks you to enter highly sensitive info AND wants to open network sockets? I think not.
