Works well with exception of DVI-VGA adapter connection, December 16, 2007
This review is from: Techshell 15 Macbook Pro Black (Personal Computers)
I bought the clear Techshell cover for my new macbook pro. Overall really like it. It gives me a nice sense of security and has already taken a couple dings that the macbook would have taken instead. The Techshell was very easy to put on as demonstrated on the Techshell website video (www.techshell.com). You can also find some videos/reviews on YouTube if you search Techshell. Did have some difficulty getting it off once it was on.
It arrived well packaged. The clear one I'm using is somewhat shiny and allows the all-important Apple logo to be clearly visible even with the Techshell on. The additional weight added to the laptop by the Techshell is barely noticable and it doesn't seem to contribute to heat build up, from what I can tell.
As described in the product website, there are pre-cut holes for each of the laptops plugs. I found that all my plugs work well with the exception of one. I've tested the mag safe power cord, a USB mouse, USB flash drive, firewire cable. I give a lot of presentations and have to use Apple's DVI-VGA adapter to connect to a portable projector whose only input is through VGA (like most projectors out there). I had difficulty getting the DVI-VGA adapter to work correctly when the Techshell was on. The picture would display via the projector, however the picture had a very blue/off-color to it. I figured it was because the DVI-VGA adapter was not connecting properly. When I took the Techshell off, the DVI-VGA adapter worked just fine and the blue/off-color that was projecting on the screen disappeared.
Overall, I'm happy with the Techshell, though will have to take it off when I give presentations and have to use the DVI-VGA adapter.

Bottom falls off, September 21, 2008

This is only OK- the bottom doesn't snap to fit like I hoped. The top works great.
