4.0 out of 5 stars Works well with some adjustments
I bought this to install on my BT-4 ERC.

With the stock spring, or with the spring the ZeroKick Hammer came with, I could only get the velocity up to about 200 FPS.

As suggested in some forums, I then bought the BT-4 spring kit and installed the red spring (the firmest one). I could then get the paintball marker to shoot up to 350 FPS, however,...

1.0 out of 5 stars 250 FPS, but it doesn't kick as much
Tried this hammer out at the pro shop and the shop owner said he put one on another gun but you had to get special springs to make it work. That is because this lighter hammer doesn't make the paintball go as fast as it should. In fact after installing it into the gun it would only shoot 250 fps- even with the upgraded springs! So the idea is nice, but this doesnt work in...

I could then get the paintball marker to shoot up to 350 FPS, however, the sear would not consistently catch on to the hammer.

Initally I gave up, took out the ZeroKick Hammer and reinstalled the stock hammer.

After a month, I decided to give it another try. I thought about cutting a small piece off of the red spring (which probably would have worked just as well and saved me about $30), but I decided to install a rear-velocity adjuster instead (because it just looked cool). With the rear-velocity adjuster unscrewed about a quarter of the way out, I have not had the problem of sear not catching. Initially, there was quite a range in velocities with a 40 FPS or so range, however, as I have worn the paintball marker and the spring in, I am now able to get consistent velocities at 270 FPS +/- 7 FPS. One of the benefits of using the red spring is that I am able to not use as much CO2 as the spring appears to push the CO2 out of the power tube with more force.

I have a BT-4 ERC, and having the ZeroKick Hammer does make a noticeable difference in the amount of recoil especially when firing >10 BPS. There does not seem to be as much vibration. Overall, I like how the product has enhanced my paintball marker in its current configuration, but I think it could have been better if it came with a better spring to begin with.

This review is from: Techt Zero Kick Hammer for All Tippmann Paintball Markers (Misc.)
The zero kick hammer kit was easy to install, instructions clear and precise, on-line support excellent and really works great. The reduction in felt recoil is great. Anyone considering this product is making a wise choice.

3.0 out of 5 stars No good with the Response Trigger, December 13, 2010

This review is from: Techt Zero Kick Hammer for All Tippmann Paintball Markers (Misc.)
On an A5 with a response trigger all I could get was single shot. Techt's tech support was quick to respond and tried to help. They said the hammer was light so it did not put as much air into the system to feed the trigger. I tried Co2 and Air and a full range of different strength springs but to no avail. I could feel the difference in kick so if you are looking for just that go ahead and buy.
