I enjoyed this book, in spite of the poor character development, confusing plot, and predictable ending.
Seriously, though, it was a good guide to the l-head Tecumseh engine and I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended.

...but isn't entirely mechanically inclined. This is your standard simple small engine mechanics manual. Comes complete with diagrams, instructions, tool listings, etc etc. Besides the purchase of this affordable manual, the fix to my very old mower was free. (float was stuck - hard for a novice to detect, but easy to fix)

Not sure if this manual is 'worth it'... as I was able to fix the clunker and therefore wasn't able to convince the better-half that we 'needed' a self-propelled, easy to start, rust-free, rear bagger, mul.... =)

Since Tecumseh engines are no longer being produced (the company went bankrupt),I thought it prudent to obtain a book concerning the engine in my snow blower in case it needed repair.My snow blower was built in 2005 and there have been considerable changes to the engine,especially the carb since this book was published.If you want to get a general idea of the workings of your engine,however,this book is worth the investment.I really appreciated the chapter on the starting mechanisms,since it allowed me to fix a Toro two stroke engine.Of course nothing compares to the technician's manual for the L head engines,but this book will provide some basic understanding of the engine for the do-it-yourself mechanic.

I needed this to adjust the carb on my snow blower 8hp snow king.
It enabled me to get this thing running properly.

A lot of people think repairing lawn mowers is a hard thing to do.I tell you from experience,that learning how to repair my own lawn mower is a big money saver for me. To do some repairs most people all ready have the tools to do the job,what am I talking about? Wrenches,sockets,screwdrivers etc. But what realy makes the job go easier is repair mannuals. They give you all the specks,tune up procedures and trouble shooting guides etc. So buy any lawn mower repair mannual and give it a try!
