This is not really an instructional video. While a player with a few years under his belt will probably be able to get something out of it, a beginer would only come away with a few useful licks or song pieces. The problem is that Ted dosen't seem to know why he plays what he plays. He just knows what sounds good to him.

Now that the technical stuff is out of the way, If you're a Ted fan this is a must have. Ted is an animal and VERY entertaining. If nothing else he shows you the attitude it takes to be cocked locked and ready to rock! Also has a good anti-drug message.

Running length is 1 hour, and for the bucks you get an hour of pure unadulterated NUGE.

Okay so, if you will allow THE NUGE to advertise his companys hunting paraphenalia, his wifes work out video (she makes an appearence which is kinda nice for the eyes), and Ted's outlook on life, and if you can accept all that then you will also get a good glimpse at a guitar player who may not be one of the best technically but happens to be one of the most passionate players you will ever see.

Opening with Ted hunting down keyboards on his ranch - yes seriously - the action is thick and fast right from the off.

Ted's love of LOUD ROCK N' ROLL is undeniable and the video mainly concentrates on Ted showing you bits and pieces from a collection of material running his whole career.

You will see his Gibson Byrdland, wail, cry moan and snarl and its all fantastic...the man plays with a passion I have not seen on a guitar vid in ages. Most of the stuff is either pentatonic based or basic grooving riffs but the insight into this stuff and how Ted makes it sound so good is what makes this video good...no make that great.

There is a pretty cool section where THE NUGE shows you the variety of sounds he can get outta the Byrdland and its truly impressive.

Overall, if you want a video that is one hour of watchable fun, a video that will put a smile on your face, and most importantly make you want to get your axe and have a go for yourself then get this video....IT WILL MAKE YOU WANNA PLAY GUITAR and that I would say is the highest praise a guitar video can get.

The Motor City Madman in his little Tazmania Studio, and of course, the Byrdland. He rips into an instrumental, followed by classics like Stranglehold, Cat Scratch Fever, and Great White Buffalo. Some tricks for all axe murderers. The difference between a hollow body and a solid. The King of Hard Rock. Everybody's Gonzo. Don't forget your bib!

If you can play guitar at all, then this video is worth the price. ENJOY with a Spittle for all you Country and Western Folks! I've met him several times, seen him perform a dozen times and he just gets better with age-like a fine wine! The man can JAM like no other! Check out his 1987 Whiplash Bash on VHS-What a treat! Atlantic distributed. 1999 is the year of the Great White Buffalo.

Great video if you know a little bit about guitar i have met Ted Nugent 3 times and he is as wild and crazy in person ah he is on the video, if you like Ted nugent check out his store in Jackson Michigan, It is truly a Teds fan paradise

While I realize that Ted Nugent is a "personality" -- I was not buying this video for an entertainment experience -- I was looking for a serious guitar instructional video that would help me improve my skills. The parts of the video that contained actual instructions were too fast with no break-downs to display right and left hand movements. P.S. His opening antics demonstrate a misuse of firearms that only reinforces the need for serious gun control in this country.
