The most exciting and realistic hunting simulation!, November 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ted Nugent Hunting (CD-ROM)
Ted Nugent Wild Hunting Adventure is the best hunting game I have played. Its authentic 3D environments, variety of animal species, and realistic attitude toward hunting safety and regulations make for a really fun and educational hunting trip!
One of the standout features of Ted Nugent Wild Hunting Adventure is the ultra-realistic 3D quality of the game. Unlike Cabela's 2 which simulates 3D with a combination of 2D images and film, Ted Nugent creates an authentic 3D hunting experience. You are able to stalk your prey through real 3D terrain, taking cover behind boulders, climbing into treestands, and following bloodtrails along the banks of a river. If you enjoy archery, you will love taking aim with a compound or recurve bow at the 3D target range; Ted Nugent gives you feedback on your accuracy after each shot. And when you are finished shooting, you can even go pull your arrows out of the 3D targets!
Many of the other hunting games I have played such as Deer Hunter only allow you to hunt Whitetail Deer. Ted Nugent improves upon this by offering a much greater variety of big game. Not only can you hunt docile species like Whitetail, Buffalo, and Bighorn Sheep, but also you can challange dangerous predators including Grizzly Bears and Wolves. But be carefull because these beasts bite back! My favorite is the Wild Russian Boar, which when confronted is just as likely to charge in a squealing rage as it is to run away! Be sure of your aim, because if you miss the kill zone, you will just aggravate these monsters even more!
Even if you are not a fan of Ted Nugent's music, you will find his videos and in-game commentary both instructional and entertaining. Unlike any other hunting game, Ted Nugent offers sound advice on real world hunting. The videos cover all the important aspects of a successful hunt, including tracking, concealment and marksmanship. He even included a selection of his favorite wild game recipes!
Unlike any other game in this genre, Ted Nugent Wild Hunting Adventure actually teaches hunting safety. When you run with your weapon drawn, shoot at a cabin window, or harvest animals that you do not have the proper tags for, you will lose points and recieve a tounge-lashing from Ted. In Deer Hunter 2, you can run while looking through your scope without consequence. If you act foolishly in Ted's world, you could end up shooting yourself!
I had a great time on my Wild Hunting Adventure, and if you like other hunting games, I'm sure you will have even more fun playing this one.

Just Like Opening Day!, April 19, 2000
This review is from: Ted Nugent Hunting (CD-ROM)
If your on the market for a realistic hunting game that could improve your skills in the field, this is the game for you. With a veriety of locations, weapons, animals, and so much more it will be just as hard for you to walk away as it was for me. If you are married I don't recomend this game, because you will spend all your waking hours on your computer. The different hunting locations all have there hidden special spots and creat an adventure by just trying to find them. It's the first hunting game that I have played where you actually have to earn points to earn money to buy tags, weapons, and ammo. This also makes it more realistic. This is by far the best on the market.

Not A Hunter, June 14, 2001

I am not a hunter, but this game is a blast. It is realistic, you can play for a long time without even seeing an animal. If you are patient and smart you'll get that Buck! Hope there is a sequel!
