This song/story has a special meaning to me as it was always the finale sung at our family's Thanksgiving gathering with my grandmother accompanying our singing on the piano. I purchased this book to carry on the tradition with my first grandchild and couldn't be happier with the quality and wonderful illustrations. We used to confuse the word "unawares" with "underwear's" and still sing it that way to this day. I agree with an earlier review that the teddy's bears parents depicted as children is the perfect adaptation for this story.

This book lived up to everything I hoped it would be. There is so much to find in the pictures. I was able to remember the tune from my childhood and sing the book to my 2 yr. old granddaughter. She loves it, everytime we look at it together she finds something new on each page, the pictures are that detailed. I love it and highly recommend this book.

I love this version of The Teddy Bears' Picnic because it features fairies hidden in the woods, but mostly because at the end when the bears' "mommies and daddies" come, they are little children, not grown up bears. A very sweet, and appropriate take on it, I think.

My kids (2 1/2 b/g twins) love the 'Teddy Bears Picnic' song from the 1950's - I purchased this book so that we could learn the words b/c the tune kept getting stuck in my head. This is a large paperback book with stunning illustrations and it has fast become a family favorite. Buy this and find a cd with the original verson of the song too : )

This is a delightful board book and is perfect for 6+ mos to toddlers. The little ones like being able to turn the pages, and the toddlers enjoy the story and the old-fashioned traditional illustrations. I had not seen the book before but was familiar with the music of the same name, and must say I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the book. Happy Grandma in Virginia : o )

My kids love this book. (7 & 3 1/2) They enjoy seeing the boy dressed up as a bear on each page. The bears are not scary AT ALL. They are illustrated in a very cuddly and lovable way.

I purchased this book because we love the song. We recently purchased a cd with the song on it (On the Good Ship Lollypop, by The Persuasions) and it reminded me of hearing the book when I was a child.

"At six o'clock their mummy's and daddy's will take them home to bed, because they're tired little teddy bears..."

This is the fourth time I have purchased this book for grandkids. They love it and I love to read it to them. They range in age from 2 to 7. I also bought the CD with the song for them to put on their MP3 players.

Beautiful, imaginative illustrations, with lots of little details to notice and talk about on every page. This is a favorite. We don't read it, we sing it, so good to get a recording with the song on it if you don't know it.

Good book with good illustrations to accompany familiar song.

I was looking forward to receiving the book which I had read in my childhood. When I opened the package, the shipper had folded the soft cover book in half to shove it into the packaging. The book was pretty much unreadable since it had a huge crease down the middle of the cover and through all of the pages. Very disappointed in the quality of the care they put into sending their books out.
