Teen Astrology,

This review is from: Teen Astrology: The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Life Your Own (Paperback)
Picture this: You are worried about how to deal with your flighty sister who borrows (and looses) all your stuff. Your best friend is all crushed out over the cute boy in algebra and won't talk about anything else. Your parents have decided that you are grounded-again. What to do? You're tired of asking your friends for advice; it always seems wrong anyway. So one day you decide to check out the horoscopes in the paper. Sure, looking to the stars could be a little flaky, but it worked for the ancient Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, and Egyptians, not to mention Nancy Reagan and Elvis. Drew Barrymore and Gwen Stefani are also big fans of astrology and they can't be wrong, right?
You grab the paper from the kitchen table, but, of course, the daily horoscope only mentions careers and marriage and that stuff you won't care about for another 10 years. Back on the bus to confusionville. I say, "Worry no more." (Okay, you probably still have things to worry about, but this will help.) M. J. Abadie, professional astrologer and psychotherapist, heard the cries of teens and delivered to us her newest book, TEEN ASTROLOGY. Here are all the tools needed to decipher the heavens and their effect on you and your buds, 'rents, and crushes. The most interesting (and crazy making) part of being a teen is dealing with relationships, so Abadie places special emphasis on interplanetary connections. You will learn how to balance the outer, social personality of your Sun sign with the inner, emotional core of your Moon sign. Figure out your main honey's planet stats and compare them to your own; Mars and Venus work together in the weird realm of love. And let's not forget the very important and very stressful parental area --- maybe the whole reason why your Mom snoops on your phone calls is that she has her Mercury in Scorpio. Don't panic if you can't tell your Ascendant sign from a stop sign --- Abadie includes plenty of easy to read tables for research purposes. The book also has a lot of journal like pages, where you can write down what you are discovering about yourself and those people around you. And for the more spiritually minded, the book provides meditations and visualizations for you to take your esoteric knowledge a step further. I think its time you spaced out (figuratively). --- Reviewed by Serena Burns

Teen Astrology--The Best Astrology Book For Teens!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Teen Astrology: The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Life Your Own (Paperback)
This is a great starter book for young astrologers, or for anyone interested in Astrology. Teen Astrology is easy to understand. There are activities that help you understand it even better! There are also solutions to teenage problems--boyfriends, school, etc. If I could I would give this book ten stars.

OH MY STARS!!,
By William Varley (Austin, TX) - See all my reviews

This book is yet again MJ Abadie at her VERY best! Ms. Abadie's understanding and over 30 years experience of using astrology as a psychotherapeutic tool, combined with her very straightforward, shoot-from-the-hip style, makes this a must have for any beginning student of astrology! Ms. Abadie also shows a vast understanding and compassion for all the trials and tribulations teens go through these day, and shows them how to cope with daily pressures which arise from the formative adolescent years. Set in work-book type style, it encourages the reader to not just stare up at the planets and lament their fate, but rather to understand the dynamic forces at work in their lives and take control of them. Her lessons will lead the teen from out of control hormone-induced tantrums to taking ownership and accountability of their problems, and the actions which they take to rectify them, by showing the budding youth how to come to a deeper level of understanding, and use that to grow into a mature, responsible, and content adult. For all you adults, check out her other books!! They are just as good for our generation as for those of our children!

This was bought for my daughter so I really cannot review it. Just to say that she has used it an awful lot and says that she loves it.

Teen Astrology was a great book that I found I could really relate too. Previously I had little knowledge of Astrology(only Sun Signs), but this book made everything easy, simple and fun. Teen Astrology is a great book for beginners or anyone else!

My preteen daughter recently started asking me a lot of questions about astrology so we decided to look for a book that was directed more towards helping her understand it in a way that made sense to her and related to teenagers rather than adults.
I picked this book because of the interactive exercises included where the reader can reflect on what is explained and how it relates to them specifically. This book goes beyond standard descriptions of sign and element characteristics, and is filled with positive affirmations about being true to yourself and being self aware. I was so impressed with the book that I read it cover to cover before I handed it over to my daughter. The parts of astrology that I found to be a bit overwhelming and complicated to understand in the past were explained in way that perked up my interest all over again. I so highly recommend this book, that it has inspired me to write my very first review on any of the many items I have purchased on amazon. It is hands down THE PERFECT beginner book. |
