I have a passion for Bibles...and I had seen smaller versions of the NIV Teen Bible with smaller font, and I thought "what a great Bible" but at my age I thought the font was a little too small for me but what a great gift! When I saw this one, which is a little larger, I bought it for myself. The blue font is medium-small but not tiny. There seems to be plenty of marginal space for adding notes. I am so pleased; I spent hours in it the first day! I am ever excited about Bibles that have commentary notes of any kind that exalt Jesus and His Deity!!! This is one. Perhaps youth Bibles have such a great thing/message going for them: simple faith in a big world.
Also, what is not mentioned in its description, at least per the one that I bought: it is sewn! Plus, what does not show up (even when I bought it) is that this silver duo-tone has a surprise. Hold it under strong light and it has hologram lines on it, vertical and horizontal! Subtle, but pretty. Also, I am very much pleased with the quality of this Bible. I love sewn Bibles! It lays flat as well. Has a chubby feel, portable, but not too small or large...In my opinion. Due to some interesting notes, I think adults should also consider this Bible...even in its simplicity and teen focus as it may benefit the adult or Sunday School teacher for that very reason. We give this Bible to 6th graders in our baptism classes. We would have preferred the more literal NRSV, but this is the best Bible for the age group. The illustrations and sidebars supplement our lessons. The leather cover is durable. I recommend it as a gift Bible, as well as for use in the church

Very nice Baptism Gift. Cool colors for boys , and great translation for easy understanding for teens or middle schoolers.
