Not as good as the first release, October 22, 2002
This review is from: Teen Wolf: Wolf of My Dreams [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Having seen the first cartoon video (with four episodes) I was psyched to learn there was a sequel. While still not approaching the horrid live-action Jason Bateman sequel, this volume veers awfully close.
In the title episode, Scott Howard (voiced in the series by Townsend Coleman)is consumed with the urge to meet a b-movie host Shanyna the She-wolf (a blatant spoof on Elvira) after inadvertently seeing her show on television. Stereotypes about crazed fans abound as he and best friend Styles Stalinsky (Donny Most) somehow make their way to California and proceed to engage in the most predictable plot line imaginable in order to get the star's attention. Considering Scott is usually the level headed being (human or wolfed out) the role reversal is both noticeable and poorly constructed. Even weirder is the star's reaction to the repeated contact attempts; Scott is of course, not a psycho, but not knowing that, she was entirely too trusting.
The episode quality is impressive in comparison to "Wolf Pride" which finds a hollywood production crew descending upon the small town of Wolverton (named for so many werewolf sightings!) to film a teenage horror movie. Scott is aghast at the sterotypical 'monster' portrayal of werewolves (again in keeping with the overall 'search for equality' theme of the series) but this evaporates when he is chosen to play the monster after an abrupt actor resignation. Suddenly, Scott is willing to put aside his convictions for a chance at hollywood--and more importantly, with longtime crush Pamella Wells.
While I remember some episodes of the series really well from my childhood, I never remembered these episodes. Perhaps there was a subconcious reason why. Nitpicking aside, the animation holds up suprisingly well almost 20 years later.

Where is my Teen Wolf on dvd?, March 1, 2007
This review is from: Teen Wolf: Wolf of My Dreams [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Alright this series needs to come to dvd for cryin out loud? it in my opinion is actually better than the films it's based on. i'm not saying the films were'nt good, i just think that the story and lessons in the teen wolf series are more expanded and have fun with it then the films got a chance to do and that it had no lauguage problems in it.
Somebody Needs To Release this series dvd.
