5.0 out of 5 stars A Stronger Second Half!
A lot of people have their gripes with TMNT: Fast Forward, but I personally always supported the change since the beginning.

This Second set of 13 episodes has a stronger feel, and a much more progressive story. Now that they have established a lot of the characters, they can explain a bit more about them, or just develop them further.

3.0 out of 5 stars The time jump is over??
This set will collect the last 13 episodes of the TMNT: Fast Forward revamp. If the street date is correct, the set will be released before the last six episodes have aired on 4Kids tv (though they might air on digital cable first).

This set will collect the last 13 episodes of the TMNT: Fast Forward revamp. If the street date is correct, the set will be released before the last six episodes have aired on 4Kids tv (though they might air on digital cable first).

When I reviewed the previous Fast Forward volume, I was relatively disappointed with how 4Kids had revamped the series to be lighter and funnier for the kiddies. Over time, I guess my attitude has softened. While Fast Forward still isn't perfect, it's a relatively entertaining diversion. This second batch of episodes are stronger than the first, with Cody finally confronting his corrupt uncle and Shokonabo's master plan coming to light. The Turtles graduate to the ninja level of Chunin, Torbin Zixx returns to play both sides, and old foes from the past take revenge.

Really, I'm almost a little sad that Fast Forward will be cancelled and retooled, presumably re-modeled after the successful TMNT cgi film. While a return to dark and gritty is better, the Fast Forward concept was finally beginning to get its groove. Hopefully the last episodes will be memorable, and leave Fast Forward as more than a passing footnote in the Turtles' history.

A lot of people have their gripes with TMNT: Fast Forward, but I personally always supported the change since the beginning.

This Second set of 13 episodes has a stronger feel, and a much more progressive story. Now that they have established a lot of the characters, they can explain a bit more about them, or just develop them further.

Some of the better episodes are "Head of State", "DNA is Thicker than Water", "Zixxth Sense" and of course "The Day of Awakening". one of the best (and possibly the funniest) things I discover in these episodes is a particular Villain (not bishop) still lives!

I say, if you are a TMNT fan through and through, and you like or own the first 13 episodes . . . do yourself a favor and purchase this DVD set! I am REALLY glad I did.

3.0 out of 5 stars End of Fast Forward season, July 22, 2010
By
This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward - The Day of Awakening v.2 (DVD)
The last half of Season 6, better known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward. While I feel that this half of the season starts to pick up just like what I would expect from the other seasons that came before this one. There are things that happened in this season that I'm not sure was good for the series in any way but who am I to say in what goes on for any animated show that I watch even if it's a fresh start of a show that I grew up watching? This season I feel could've been better overall, but at least the second half picked up this season, even if it meant by the time that this season ended the turtles got sent back to their own time. Overall I give this set 3.5 stars out of 5.

I'm kinda sad this series never got a lot of attention. I love it. It's plenty funny while still holding to the kung-fu action TMNT fans love. I would definitely recommend it for younger kids as well as some older audiences.

This season wraps up with this DVD. The storyline comes to a close and the majority of the episodes are meaningful in this DVD. This is most definitely worth picking up.

This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward - The Day of Awakening v.2 (DVD)
WHEN MY SON WAS GROWING UP HE AND I WOULD WATCH THE TMNT'S EVERY SATURDAY
MORNING. NOW THAT I HAVE TWO GRANDSONS, WE TOO, WATCH THE TMNT'S EVERY
SATURDAY. THEY ARE TOTALLY ENGROSSED IN THIS DVD. THE TURTLES HAVE GROWN
UP AND ARE MUCH MORE ADVANCED. THIS DVD HAS LESSONS TO BE LEARNED, ACTION,
KINDNESS AND AMUSEMENT (PROVIDED FOR BY MICHAELANGELO. I RECOMMEND THIS
DVD TO BOYS 3 AND OVER AND TO THE GRANDMAS TOO.

In the latest of the series the turtles now find themselves in a futuristic, sci fi themed world. And the episodes are still written well, great animation, & just as entertaining as anything else that came before in the previous seasons. TMNT Fast Forward is great fun but once again the only real let down is there aren't any special features.
