5.0 out of 5 stars So what if it's not the first movie, It's still good!
People complained over and over about how bad this movie was, well now I've finally got to see it again after 10 years! I loved it when I was seven and I love it even more now! This movie was NOT a bad movie,In fact I feel this one was nearly as good as the first film, much lighter and goofier but it still deserves second place. This was much better than the second movie...

1.0 out of 5 stars all good things come to an end......, September 5, 2001

I remember when i was 8 years old
many fond memories which includes the ninja turtles which in my opinion was the greatest action show for boys and well......
as far as I remember some girls as well.....well the movies at least.
I loved the first and I loved the second movie (actually i liked the second more even though i shouldnt have really)
and the third.......well we can be very cruel and nasty at this movie and give nasty reviews and how it was the cause of the turtles demise but the fact is that turtles had already enjoyed its peak and was already on the way out.
this movie was merely the ninja turtles last breath of air.
however the fact is this movie had a lot less efort put into it than the previous 2 movies which is reflected in the bad use of lip movement by the turtles which mixes badly with the script which obviously was neglected in the making of the movie.
also the costumes had changed slightly for the worst and in one scene if i remember you could see strings on splinters hand as he shuts a window at the start of the movie.
it was little touches like this that bought the movie right down.
then came the hard task for the producers to make a story without shredder involved
and you may say that if the produces had of bought him back for the third movie it would have looked stupid as he clearly died in the 2nd movie but then I have to ask you...would it have mattered really? i mean this movie clearly was just a cheap cash in on the turtles series anyway which was going to be the teams last attemped to make some cash on the dying series so if the movie is ugly anyway would shredders precence have really mattered because in my opinion it would have helped because the movie couldnt have been any worse.
Altough all companys will try to make as much cash as they can on there products its just a shame the turtles series had to go down the same path and was done so badly in the process? just
dont remember the turtles this way because i really wish i hadnt
have.
i would like to recommend though on a brighter note that the first and second movies are great and will bring back fond memories of when the ninja turtles were still the greatest.

People complained over and over about how bad this movie was, well now I've finally got to see it again after 10 years! I loved it when I was seven and I love it even more now! This movie was NOT a bad movie,In fact I feel this one was nearly as good as the first film, much lighter and goofier but it still deserves second place. This was much better than the second movie to me. The first movie was dark, serious, and great! The second film was okay but came across as a bit too goofy at times to me(But I still loved it!^-^) and the third movie was, like another customer said, a combo of the two. And as for the animatronics...I didn't see anything wrong with them, they looked exacally like the second movie costumes with better facial expressions! Do I reccommend this movie? Hell yeah! It's not as good as the first movie but that doesn't make it a bad film. Some customers here have said that the storyline is too farfetched for the TMNT-verse, and again I disagree. The comics, old toon, and the brilliant new toon have all taken the fans of the series to new places. In fact I believe this movie was loosly based on a Michealangelo comic from the Mirage series, the one where Mikey writes this little story about him being in ancient Japan and helping people there. Anyway, I'll end my review here. I loved this movie and I'm sure most Ninja Turtles fans will enjoy it too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Compared to the other 2?, September 2, 2002

Well...I was always a fan of TMNT growing up. So of course I had to see all 3 movies. While myself and some of my friends argue whether this one(#3) or #2 is the 2nd best TMNT film made, its still in my opinion the worst of the 3. By far in my opinion #1 is definatly the best. No question asked. This deviated from the whole storyline and really had no place. I saw this as more of a kids movie than anything else...whereas I could get into the first two more. I'm rating this pretty low as I think they could have done something a lot better with the third film.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst of the series!, December 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (DVD)
What are the reviewers thinking sayin that it's a good movie? It is not. It's nothing compared to the first two. In this one the turtles go to Japan and try to save April from the cage. At least it's the same cast from the first two but nothing like the original. The first turtle movie seems to make more sense the other two because most of it is in the cartoon series. Don't waste your time watching this it's boring. The first one is better.

1.0 out of 5 stars I love the TMNT, but the third one is a real letdown for fans like me, February 4, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (DVD)
LONG REVIEW:

Remember the first two Ninja Turtle movies? They rocked and I loved em'! They are a big part of cinema history and remain in my heart. Now, the third one (or should I say "turd"one) is bad, nay, horrible! The first two both star the ninja turtles, splinter, casey, shredder, and april. The puppets look rather realistic, they have original story lines, cheesy (but awsome) jokes, and best of all, they have amazing fight scenes. The third one, however, has a bland story line (April just happens to buy a magic lantern that sends the turtles back in time. What the heck!?!), stars only the ninja turtles and april, splinter and casey don't show up much, and shredder, the main bad guy, isn't even in the movie, the turtles and splinter look like [...], and the jokes are just.... so bad that you can't find enjoyment out of them.

SHORT REVIEW:

Bad things:
-puppets look like [...], look nothing like the original, and their words don't match their mouths

-story line is is bland, predictable, and all around awful

-jokes aren't so bad that they're awsome, they're so bad you cringe and will even get embarrassed!

-the original characters either don't appear or rarely do anything, particularly of interest

goods:
-uhhhhh.... there are, uh, lots of... um.... funny.... reviews of them?

CONCLUSION:

All around, this movie is a kick in the face with a steel toe boot. It's boring, ugly, and stupid. Really, it's not worth getting, unless if comes in a three pack. Please, never buy this. If you're curious, watch it at a buddy's house, or rent it for a very low price, but don't let this [...] stain be yours, because, no matter how modest we are, we always have too much pride to watch this [...].

4.0 out of 5 stars Give and Take, June 7, 2004
By

This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (DVD)
The first Turtles movie was great in the fact that it took on the tone of the comics rather than the TV show (more grim, more adult). The second, after much backlash from parents, went in the total opposite direction and turned it into camp. This installment is a nice ballance of the two.

Granted, the costumes are not up to par with the first two, and the plot is not the most original (nor feasible), but they take a back seat to the jokes. The first two TMNT movies focused more on plot and action with an occassional joke to keep things light. Writer/director Stuart Gillard's time travel story, while not the strongest, opens the door to many jokes and gags, which is what makes this movie stand out among the others. It's a nice change of pace, in my opinion.

Kudos to Elias Koteas in this film (he deserves to be the first in the credits). His 15th century counterpart isn't the best, but he makes up for it when Casey Jones is forced to "babysit" four ancient Japanese warriors in modern-day New York (favorite bit is still the hockey scene).

For those who were more interested in plot, this is not the best place to start in the series, but if you enjoy a good line of jokes and gags, I'd definitely recommend this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Shakespeare on the half shell!, October 7, 2003

I had to laugh at the string of reviews for the vhs version of TMNJ III--clearly some adolescents out there are in a little over their heads when it comes to appreciating the splendid depiction of feudal japan and Elizabethan England that the producers wove into this story. If I had a bright 10-year old at home who was into martial arts I would want them to see this and hope it might ease them into a mature appreciation of the culture that gave birth to their sport. This last episode is good clean fare for family viewing and will even teach the young dudes some history--cowabunga!

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone hush up and just enjoy, August 1, 2002
By
This review is from: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (DVD)
Personally I myself am a film buff, and this movie cinimatically has its faults, but at its heart it goes back to the roots of the TV show which i watched as a child, The first 2 movies were dark, They had better writing and puppetry but were so grim. this disconnected it from the younger generation of turtle lovers.
it is not the best in the series but it is my favorite, it has more fantasy and charm than the first 2

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, but a bad end to an excellent trillogy., April 2, 2001
By
Aww, the Turtles are done for it, their final movie. I feel this movie could have been better in many ways. The voice of Spliter should have been the same voice from the 1st and 2nd movie. The Turtle's costumes should have been the same as the 2nd movie. The enemies were too unbelievable. And the ending of the movie was just a little too weak for me. It's a good movie for a fan, but I only suggest buying it if you are a diehard Ninja Turtles fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first two, March 4, 2003
By
The turtles are at it again for the third time, but this movie isn't nearly as good as the first two, one of the reasons why is that Splinter's voice was awful, it seems to be that he was shaking and his voice was a little upbeat, also there are no foot soldiers or the Shredder, just a bunch of Japanese villians, and the idea of going back in time wasn't that great either, fortunatly we do get to see Casey Jones back even though he had only a minor role and Corey Feldman returns as the voice of Donatello (he didn't do the second one due to rehab for heroin addiction).
Paige Turco returns as April O' Neal.
The only reason why I give this movie 2 stars instead of 1 cause it has Casey Jones in it but other than that, it's just not a great movie, only recommended for only the diehard turtle fans.
