I was one of those Nintendo fans who wouldn't have anything to do with anything Sega all those years back, but those days are behind me and thanks to emulation these days on PC I'm finding so many cool games I never knew existed from the days of yesteryear.

This is pretty much another version of Turtles in Time found on the Arcade and SNES. A sequel to the original TMNT ARCADE smash hit.

It's very much like Turtles In Time, but its no way the same game. starting off in this one in a sewer and taking on the foot, aliens and mousers till you reach Leather Head who has the stupid most lamest subtitles I've ever seen, in fact, all the boss' do.

You get through him and go surfing on hover boards to a badly named Ghost Ship, there is no ghostly activity of any kind but a few hundred more foot & rock soldiers. and then so on and so on...

The lame thing about the game is the dialog of the boss', but more importantly the reason I suspect this game wasn't as popular, is the fact that its pretty damn hard. You get about 5 lives, and you go through them pretty damn quick. I suppose with some practice you could master it, but the good thing about emulators is they come with the game genie built in, so after I turned on an infinite life code, I cruised through the game to see what else it had in store.

The boss' are Leather Head, Rock steady, Baxter Stockman, Krang and the Shredder, and the most notable boss I found was Tatsu! The Foot Clans #2 man from the movie actually made it to the game! Tho he looks more like Street Fighters Sagat in a Shinobi costume.

As I said, the levels are much different to that of Turtles In Time, the first two or 3 levels resemble ones in T.I.T but I can assure you nothing is exactly the same. Even the foot soldiers are different in this one. The Orange ones are normal, purple ones shoot ninja stars, grey/whitish have nun-chucks , silvery/white have knight sticks and can kind of block your attack a bit, yellow ones have archery bows, blue ones have swords, and the pinkish/red ones where cool that breath fire or something at you... there is a few more to find as well.

Overall, I actually liked it! Not often I do find a worthy SEGA GEN game that competes with the SNES versions. But this game overall isn't that bad, ya just need a game genie to keep ya self alive or else it's about as Bogus as laxative and prune juice pizza!

An awesome, awesome game that was overlooked due to the SNES game, Turtles in Time. Although its not as good as Turtles in Time, its certainly very, very good and worthy a purchase. The game does include a two-player mode, which is the best way to enjoy this game. You are limited to playing as the four turtles, Leonardo (Blue with katana/sword), Donatello (Purple with Bo), Michaelangelo (Orange with Nunchuck), and Rapheal (Red with Sai/Fork-like objects). A little more variety in the playable character department would be nice, adding Splinter or even Casey would be good. Story-wise, the game dosen't succeed, but seeing that its based on the American series, I can't complain. The game is all-around plain fun, although tedious at times. Fighting Krang is harder than defeating the final boss, and who would have guessed it, Shredder. As I said, its best enjoyed with two people. Its one of the best beat-em-ups I've ever played, and certainly the best for the Genesis. Worth a purchase? Yes, by all means. If you find it, it shouldn't be much, and it'll keep you occupied if you have a friend or family member near by.

Exclusively on the Sega Genesis, TMNT : Hyperstone Heist was the scapegoat to the successfully popular TMNT IV : Turtles In Time for the SNES. While Turtles In Time got rave reviews, Konami decided instead of porting the game over, they would just storm up a new installment for the series for the Sega Genesis.

Unfortunately this title lacks much when compared to its previous kin. The fighting is shoddy, unfair at times, and the traps, lasers, and daggers that shoot out of seemingly nowhere make it almost impossible to beat without getting frustrated. And to boot, the game is only five levels long. I don't know any game that could be considered decent that only had five levels of gameplay.

This game was rushed, feels horrible to play, is uninteresting, and instead of creating 8 or 10 good levels at medium strength, they pack an unfair amount of difficulty into five short levels (level four, which is arguably the hardest and most boring consists of two "go" screens with optional foes and four bosses). When you continue a character, you must start over from the beginning of the level. Talk about frustrating, especially if you are on the last boss.

There is no good scenery (save for the ship level) and the production of the game seems sterile and uninteresting.

This one gets two stars from me, even if I did wear it out as a kid. Playing it recently I realize why the game sunk to the back of my collection as a kid. It was too hard and not even fun to play.

If you're looking for a good vintage Turtles game, check out Turtles in Time. Way smoother, more fun to play, mapped out great, and better scenery overall.

THERE ARE SOME LEVELS THAT ARE VERY IDENTICAL TO THE SUPER NINTENDO VERSION TURTLES IN TIME THERE ARE SOME LEVELS THAT ARE DIFFERENT MOST OF THE BOSSES ARE ALSO FEATURED THE GRAPHICS ARE VERY GOOD THE PLAY CONTROL IS A LITTLE SLOW & IT IS MORE CHALLENGING THAN TURTLES IN TIME

When I think of my child hood lots of things come to mind. Saturday morning cartoons, were cartoons started at 5 am and didnt go off till 3pm. Hills department store, Toy stores when they were in every mall and this video game. Me and my best friend use to play this over and over again. I love the game play in it. It was one of the few games that you could play as a kid and beat. Lot of the games for NES, SNES and Sega were so hard you couldnt get past the first level. Heck Im a grown man now and some of those games I still cant get past the first level. But this isnt the case with this game. If you havent played it then add it to your list of games to play. Shoot if you have a bucket list then add this to it. You wont regret it.

There is so much to say about this game but the reviewers above have pretty much said what the game play is about. I would like people not to compare turtles in time to hyperstone heist. I have played both games numerous times they are totally different yet extremely fun. Also you must note Hyperstone Heist came first. So it makes sense why the second one turtles in time made great improvements on little game play ideas. If you look close to both from playing Hypertone Heist Turtles in Time is just a improved version of Hyperstone Heist. There is no game like Turtles in Time in style and gameplay improvements. Turtles in Time didn't fall out of the sky it came from Hyperstone Heist. In the end you got two great games totally different but much improved. I have played no TNMT title since to give me the excitement of these two Genres.
