Customer Reviews

A little frustrating for my son.
Kelly
Well, he has wanted this skateboard toy for weeks so I jumped at the opportunity to get it for him once he tried and ate something new.
MAK
They would prefer it to have batteries so that you could turn it on and it would go by itself.

my son has not even turned 2 yet, and he has had this for 4 months now. it still works. just like it did on day 1. its a $10 toy, people need to lower their expectations a little. either that, or maybe they just have terrors for kids that break things too often.

and FYI, the standard Michelangelo will fit just perfect, because he is the smallest of the 4 turtles.

We got this as a gift, unfortunately there is no turtle that comes with it. We got 3 other turtles as gifts too - but none of them fit on this skateboard. A little frustrating for my son. Since they make different size turtle figures, it'd be nice if they could be specific about which one you need to buy to attach to this toy.

My son has an eating disorder where he basically refuses to even taste 99% of the food we put in front of him. From a suggestion we received from our Pediatrician, we tried to create an incentive to WANT to try something new and actually eat it! Well, he has wanted this skateboard toy for weeks so I jumped at the opportunity to get it for him once he tried and ate something new.

Well, it worked like a charm! UNFORTUNATELY.. it was out of the box for less than 25 minutes and then BROKE. The internal gears are made out of an extremely CHEAP and SOFT plastic that ended up rounding off. This means that you cannot build the momentum in the wheels that acts to drive the skateboard. What you're left with is a toy that won't even roll unless you open it up and gut it out (which I had to do so my son could still enjoy his "reward").

So the next morning I called Playmates Toys customer service department only to find out that it is ONE PERSON. Wow.. I have not received a call back from the 'department' yet and it's been a full business day. I will be sure to update my review if/when I do hear back.

Our son begged for this for Christmas. After playing with it for about 2 minutes, he was bored. The $8.99 tutles fit on it just fine. The toy works fine, it just isnt very entertaining. The commercials way overhype the capabilities of this toy. I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a fun toy if you are over 4 years old and wanting some jump-ramp action. I have a static collection and wish they would just make a regular skate board for these figures. This one is built like a small tank with an over-sized board on top. It does not run on batteries but rather is self-power through pull-back/push-forward "Rev & Release" gearing. It can go forward, turn, and do 360 degree spins. Underneath is a 2-way switch that decides whether it will run on (#1) one rear wheel or on (#2) two rear wheels.

There is a base plate that snaps onto the board which hooks the turtle figure into a standing position. Shifting this center-of-gravity is important for many stunts. When I did initially try it out it was with a 2012 turtle figure so I cannot tell you how well it accepts other versions. It comes with a small sheet of self-stick graphics as well as illustrated instructions detailing how to do 11 different stunts.

I wish I could tell you how reliable / durable it is but, as I said, mine just sits there...collecting dust...never played with...t's kind of sad. Oh, yeah, there is also a stunt ramp too, that I never use...
