Bought for my boyfriend. He really loves it. Brings him back to his childhood. A good buy for a fan.

Wow, 25 years already? I was a madly obsessed child with these toys when they first came out. Any male kid, or girl, who liked the TMNT had to have as many of these toys as they could. But now when I look back on it, it makes me wonder what the designers where thinking? In particular, this one, The Shred dude. Why is his armor blue and purple? And why is his head so big? Why does he not have a shirt on? It hardly looks like the Shredder from the series... I thought maybe it was due to plastic not coming in the color gray, but then I remembered "Rock-steady" & "Metal Head" came in gray, so why is Shredder oddly colored?
Many of the toys compared to the series where very odd, I had the Turtle Blimp too and wondered why in the cartoon 2 turtles could fit on the wings at the same time, but on the toy, you could barley seat one on it. The Turtle van was an odd design too. As where many more. It's nice to see the 24th anniversary bring these childhood memories back, but seeing them again now, well, as I said, what the shell was with the designs of them? |
