THESE COLPIX ARTISTS SHINE ON THIS CD!,
This review is from: Teenage Triangle/More Teenage Triangle (Audio CD)
I was so pleased to see this Import CD come out. I can't tell you how much. Not only are the songs in True Stereo (thank you Producer Stu Phillips) but this collection is more complete than the Colpix Story 2 CD set. On Triangle, we have the inclusion of James Darren's "Gidget" along with Paul Peterson's "She Rides With Me" (the only song not in stereo). Then there are the big hits by Shelley Fabares, Darren and Peterson. All here! The songs follow the original format of the original albums. The CD package is pleasing to the eye, also! This is a real winner! Nuff Said!!

I had this record as a child and I loved it then, so when I saw that it was redone on a CD, I just knew that I had to buy it. There are songs written by Brian Wilson, Jan Berry and these songs you don't hear. I am very happy with my purchase.

With all due respect to an early 60s TV network's idea of pop music, the fact that this is called 'teenage triangle' is weird and bizarre to me. Why? because Shelley Fabares and Paul Petersen were known as brother and sister on the Donna Reed show, which provided the basis for their recording careers. Here they're presented as two thirds of a love triangle w/ James Darren, who was significantly older, and also on the show briefly. Sorry, but that's just plain weird. When Rick Nelson's sales of his first record (performed on Ozzie and Harriet)went through the roof due to the phenomenal tv exposure, many TV producers insisted on their stars singing, whether they could or not. That part I accept. The unspoken conclusion is that Shelley and Paul (or in the public's mind- Mary and Jeff Stone)are romantically involved. Granted, the producers are expecting you to forget the subtext, but it's still creepy to me!
